The Supreme Personality of Godhead!

I can refute atheism all day, and we can go in cirlces until Jesus returns or the Universe implodes.

No-one can really PROVE (although all of us can offer supporting evidence) their side of the issue, but for you to say that someone who believes in a creator is "stupid" or "illogical", or any similar accusation is simply an arrogant, biased, and unfounded opinion.

i asked a simple question and invited christains to discuss their beliefs with me if they would like. instead i got how i serve the wrong master and how im going to hell. if you feel you must persuade me towards your religion trying to scare me with hell and damnation wont work. exsplain your beliefs and why you feel their correct. otherwise don't respond...i can't be scared by something that does not exist i invited you to share your beliefs out of common curtesy. i do not judge others by their beliefs and or persacute them for their belief structure. isn't true that your bible and your christ preaches do on to others how you would want them to do on to you. well i don't tell you your going to be doomed to never advance because your scared of accepting accountability for your own mistakes and there for need a being to blame it on. be considerate of other people and their beliefs after all isn't that what your christ believes in let the first person without sin cast the first stone?

Dear God:

Why didn't you save the school children ?.

Sincerely,

Concerned Student
Reply:
Dear Concerned Student:
Sorry,
I am not allowed in schools.
Sincerely, God
How did this get started?...
Let's see,
I think it started when Madeline Murray O'Hare complained
She didn't want any prayer in our schools.
And we said, ok
Then, someone said you better not:
Read the Bible in school;
the Bible that says
"thou shalt not kill,
Thou shalt not steal,
And love your neighbors as yourself,"
And we said, OK...
Dr. Benjamin Spock said
We shouldn't spank our children
When they misbehaved
Because their little personalities
Would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem.
And we said,
An expert should know what he's talking about
So we won't spank them anymore.

For people that do, why do you?
I really want to, but it's hard for me to, because right now I think it's just something people make up to make them comfortable with death and so they have an answer to stuff we will never know.(ex. Where we came from, is there life after death etc.)

I live in the Democratic Republic of India. Here we have so many laws with umpteen loopholes to circumvent it. Dowry is prohibited, but prevalent. Even highly educated and religious people bargain for it or indulge in violence over it. The aggrieved are the women folk. Should we not observe a code of conduct in the observance of marriage? I admit it is difficult; then what is the remedy? Lileeann33

to all the people that were fooled ?
Other than the Catholic Church there are many that claim to be the truth .... But it seems that the catholic church was prominant and perhaps the only church until Martin Luther rebelled and started the reformation. If true .... why were the majority of people after Christ's death only exposed to a false church ? Why are fundamentalists and bornagains and other sects a modern day phenomenon ? What happens to all the people that never had chance at understanding scripture and knowledge ..... if from birth to death they were only exposed to a false church or beliefs ?

according to me..we r gods for ourselves..
every decision we make affect our next step..
there is no physical god sitting somewhere writing about other's sins and good work..
and nobody knows nothing about him..otherwise we all would know by this time..
so i dont think so any answer will solve the primal question..
what are your thoughts??
please

I appreciate all the participation in this discussion. What I have concluded is that science has itself in a box refusing to see outside of that box and even consider intelligent design along with the random chaos into order theory they support. It is as if the science community is a religion into itself and is the epitome of Humanism. Can anyone be served by such closed intellects when the evidence is so strong for design and order. It is as if the scientific community lives in a retangular cube and cannot even speculate that there may be more. As a Christian I welcome scientific inquiry, speculation and theory as I know that as the Scriptures tell me that creation is evidence enough for the existence of God the creator and designer of all things. Who is more open minded the scientist or the theist who welcomes scientific inquiries into the wonders and miracles of God.

In this vidio of a beheading, what made me feel off,was the way in which these people are yelling alla, how can we have two different gods.one says not to kill and the other who arrived 800 years after the Christ, says it is OK.
And if they become are killed they go to god with a heap of virgins, what a load!!!!
seeing this i look at these people with different eyes now.
no wonder people want to get rid of them

Secular science has put forth quite a few theories as to the origins of our universe, but all of them have the problem of the singularity; that is the single point of existance right before the beginnig of our universe. The problem with attempting to offer a scientific explanation for our universe is that whatever caused our universe to exist, (the singularity, if you will,) existed before our universe, and obviously, before our universal laws of physics. In order to try to rectify this, scientists have put forth theories such as "string theory" and that of a "dimension of infiniti". The funny thing is that these theories are simply renaming God and taking away his personality. All of them, however, agree that there has to be something of an infinite nature which existed before our universe. So why is it a cop out to say that God need not have had a creator?

I frequently discuss theology with my peers, and occasionally with my superiors (e.g., theology teachers) in a friendly and largely informal way. I am an atheist, and they, for the most part, are Roman Catholic.

One thing that almost always comes up is the question of my belief system... I am not widely known as an atheist. Upon finding out that I'm an atheist, people (understandably) ask me to back up/give reasons for my beliefs, much as I would ask them to explain their reasons for believing.

The issue arises when I cite logical reasons, and assert that it is not rational to believe in god. Ninety-five percent of the time, the person with whom I am speaking says something to the effect of "You can't prove god with logic, he's totally illogical. You have to have faith."

I do not know how to respond to this... politely, at least. If faith is the only way one can come to know god, that is begging the question of god. And why should someone believe in something that cannot be

'Not have I despised the god...Not have I killed...Not have I fornicated...Not have I despoiled the thing of the god...not have I defiled the wife of a man...Not have I cursed the god...Not have I borne false witness'.
- Egyptian Book of the Dead (Comings and Goings Forth By Day)

Moses is abandoned in a basket by his mother, left to float in a stream among the reeds (generally attributed to Sargon I), raised by a wealthy Egyptian family and educated by tutors.

What might he have learned from his boyhood school lessons, that he would later claim he got from a burning bush on a mountain?

Any guesses?

In 1st Timothy 2 verses 9-13, it says a lot about what women cant do. Do you people who take the bible literally think these things to be true. Ex: "I permit no woman to teach or have authority over man; she is to keep silent"

I n Revelation 12 verses 13-17 it talks about a dragon and about how the earth opened its mouth and swallowed a river. Do you people think a dragon existed at one time, and do you think the earth actually has a mouth?
