i asked a simple question and invited christains to discuss their beliefs with me if they would like. instead i got how i serve the wrong master and how im going to hell. if you feel you must persuade me towards your religion trying to scare me with hell and damnation wont work. exsplain your beliefs and why you feel their correct. otherwise don't respond...i can't be scared by something that does not exist i invited you to share your beliefs out of common curtesy. i do not judge others by their beliefs and or persacute them for their belief structure. isn't true that your bible and your christ preaches do on to others how you would want them to do on to you. well i don't tell you your going to be doomed to never advance because your scared of accepting accountability for your own mistakes and there for need a being to blame it on. be considerate of other people and their beliefs after all isn't that what your christ believes in let the first person without sin cast the first stone?

Well said! A star for you!! I asked similar questions and one asking for suggestions of what to include in my book of shadows and was told i would burn or to burn the book! They do not have any understanding of our beliefs nor have they sought the answers for themselves so they resort to what is preached and pushed down their throats, by doing to us what was done to them...until they succumbed and became one of them! We on the the hand know how to think for ourselves and have come to rational conclusions and found a system that fits...It really is sad though how they would rather say the devil made me do it , than to accept responsibility for their own actions! And sadder still that they will have to come back again and again until they learn to think for themselves and evolve!
Blessed Be!

Their general beliefs and basis all mean well and are the general beliefs of most religion and beliefs such as love thy neighbor, help others, and be a good person. However their idea and message of the afterlife are very vain and narrow-minded. Im just paraphrasing but "believe or burn in hell" says alot about their confidence in themselves and their ability to convert, recruit, and ability to preach with loving, caring messages of peace and unity. Hell is basically the corner stone for most religions using it to compare with Heaven and it is a very sad, poor, and above all, a pathetic reason to believe in something or someone.

Just in case they don't... they have a cauldron for sure, and the stuff they boil in there and stir all the time.. must be devillish stuff indeed so it's pretty nasty stuff to start with in that cauldron... nothing fit for eating.. I would use that...for instant relief instead.. it probaby all turns into smoke and goes up in flames like the French when they cook special food and add alcohol...it's a new dish... ''something devellish Flambe with an accect '' to make it sound posh...

please don't judge all christians by others. you have every right to genuine answers to your question. Why do I believe? Because I have seen the change it has made in me and others see it too. And it was not by my own effort. I know I screwed up my life royally trying to do things my way. and when it got to the point where i could no longer live in the life i created i called out to God and asked Him to open my eyes and heart to the truth and to lead me out.now i'm not going to tell you there was instant revelation cuz there wasn't. but over the next week there was alot reveled to me that i had previously shut my eyes to and denied. I still spent another year or so wavering on what i knew i had to do but He never left me and eventually He gave me the strength and the will to do it. I look over the last three years in awe because i see what He has done for me, but it only happened because i was willing to let it and stop doing things my way. I am happier than i have ever been in my whole life. there is real contentment. not because He has made me rich or any of that stuff some preachers teach, but because I am loved, truely loved, not because i am so wonderfully perfect and do everthing just right but only because He is my Father who loves me just the way He created me. I understand how you feel about some churches and religious people but it is not about them. the phartsees lead many astray that is why Christ had such contempt for them, look to Christ not to man. The hearts of men are inheritently evil. Not all who are christians really follow Christ and His teachings. Some day you may find yourself where i found myself that day, i have no doubt because you are already searching for the truth. please don't allow the weaknesses of humans to push away from the turning to God for the real thing. If you are truely wanting the truth ask Him to show you but be ready to see.

The only reason I am ever found discussing hellfire / eternal torment is to explain that the teaching does not originate in the Bible. The term "helling potatoes" is olde English for storing potatoes underground / in a cellar. Not roasting them, not even just until tender.

The idea of everlasting torment seems to be a twist of "the Secfond Death", "the Lake of FIre", which simply symbolizes eternal destruction/cessation of life, without any hope of a resurrection... Not eternal torment! I am a follower of Christ, not of church dogma.

I do not know what your first question pertains to, but as to those who feel that scaring someone into chrisianity is the way to do it I believe are mistaken. To me it's funny of all the books of the bible there is only one that centers around hell and judgement day and all of that. Most of the bible centers around blessings and a history of the jews and Christ. I'm not one for scaring people into faith. I can't think of the verses but the story goes that a man went to hell and it was this horrible place and he asked God if he could tell his family how horrible it was and to change their ways, and God said that if they don't listen to the prophiets that are already there they won't listen to you either. Basically I'm saying that even God tells us that scaring people into faith isn't the way to do it. Those who are trying are what give Christians a bad name. I'm sorry that some of them feel it is the way but In my mind that is misinformation. ne way thank you for whatever time you give this response.

I can and do.
True Christians do not subscirbe to the teaching that a God of love would keep people alive forever just to torment them in a firey hell. The origins of the hellfire doctrine are not Biblical at all, but date back to ancient Babylon.
You can check my entire history of questions and answers, not once did I defer to those who disagree with me as being condemned to hell.

I have answered over 3500 questions, and not a single condemnation to hell.

Why can't teachers discuss their beliefs on you'd better listen and study without talking about giving you bad grades or failing you?

Why can't your boss discuss his beliefs about getting the job done and doing it right without talking about if you don't, you could be fired?

It's not a pleasant topic, but there are consequences and sometimes the truth hurts.

I don't know what your initial question was, nor did I look to see the responses you received. I have a hunch though. I am a Christian. To discuss my beliefs would involve my warning you of what the Bible says, which is God's word. In the Bible it says that those who do not make the choice to repent and receive forgiveness of sins and ask Jesus to lead their lives are against God. You are either for God or against, there is no inbetween area. Having said that, I personally can not tell you that you are going to eternally be dammed, as judgement is not mine, it is for God alone, he will decide that at judgement day. The message of Jesus Christ is one of joy, love and forgiveness. While the alternative is scarey, maybe not to you, but to others, the main message is that Jesus loves us enough that he wanted us to be with him forever. The only way to make humankind clean and pure enough to come before God was to have a savior who pays for our sins and makes us clean. All are sinners, yes, even Christians. None are with out sin. The thing that makes a Christian different is that they are forgiven. Forgiven if they repented from the heart and really meant it, hence, they would make a choice to not delibertly keep on sinning. They will sin, as they are human, but not blatently sin because they say, oh, I will be forgiven. That is not a true heart for God. Yes, all should be accountable for their own wrong doings. Satan is the father of all evil and lies and he tempts us to sin. Just as we have free will to make a choice for God, we have free will to make a choice to not give in to temptation. A christian should not be rude and mean to others when approaching them with the Gospel and telling them all about Jesus. That is contrary to how Jesus would have responded. Being Christians, we should be striving to be Christ Like, as that is what Christian means. We should also not be doormats, but there are tactful ways of responding to others and tactful ways to get the message across. If you get a response that is contrary to what you set out to do, kick the dirt from your sandals and move on. As for my beliefs, I believe and have faith in the only God almighty, God of Israel. I believe in both heaven and hell and I believe in either eternal damnation or eternal joy, heaven or hell.

Hope you get answers that you consider to be direct and tactful.
