You cannot pray yourself out of every situation. For example, if you drink heavily and damage your liver - God will not necessarily heal you - you pay the penalty for your actions... this is how we learn. There are cases of divine healing, but I think this is when they are not related to our wrong behaviour..
Acceptance of what God gives us is good, but we can also ask for more, and God wants us to!-
"Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." And God granted his request."
1Cronicles 4:10

You and your girlfriend - have patience with each other.. show her patience even if she doesn't show you any... be non-judgemental and she will see that we are all at different stages in our journey, and sometimes we can be wrong.. :-)

You are right...God hears all our prayers; but doesn't always give us what we wanted...anymore than a parent gives a child everything they ask for, lest the child become spoiled and unthankful...
It sounds like she's been taught the "name it and claim it, prosperity preaching" heresy...supposing that we control God by asking for it, so He MUST grant our petition. It's like saying.."Daddy you promised me anything I wanted, now you must give it to me, because I asked for it"...that's the same thing an immature brat says to their parent...
All prayer should include, "Lord willing", "your will be done" or some such similar phrase...it's important to remember that we are asking not DEMANDING. Folks like these don't understand the awesome person of God...
Heb 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

You can not pray your way out of anything. The most prayer can do is give peace of mind to the one doing the praying but that alone will not solve your problems.

I think you should accept what God gives you but still pray but not necessarily to ask for stuff you want all the time.

If you are a Christian, and have a problem, if you earnestly pray, He will make a way for you, but not necessarily get you out of the situation.

Your attitude is almost as ridiculous as your GF.
Your god gives you nothing.
Your GF is deluded to the point of insanity.
Try praying your way out of pregnancy, imminent death, an amputated limb being the best one.
Don;t be confused.
Accept the fact that your god does not exist.
Then, everything falls into place nicely.
All of your question will just fade away into nothing .....

She's wrong. God gets no one out of anything.
You're almost right, except god gives you nothing.

Yes, you do have to accept certain things, but.........if God gets you to something (a certain situation), He will lead you through it. All you have to do is pray and have faith and patience because God's time frame isn't necessarily our time frame.
