If he doesn't want people in hell why did he bother giving people free will. I know a lot would say "blabla without free will we are just robots, etc,etc" and why (in the story of adam and eve) did god put a tree of knowledge in there if he knew eve would eat the apple?

Now, this isn't a question against christians i'm just wondering why god would bother giving us free will if he hates seeing people in hell.

Please pray for my dad.He's having an angioplasty surgery on 04-17-07.
He diabetic and is not getting blood circulating to his leg.
He's in his late 70's

Me and my girlfriend often get into these long discussions about our relationship. When no clear solution is found she often goes to others to she what advice they can give. The only thing with that is she only tell her side of the story and being that these are closed friends of her they always give advice that only suits her, and her friends end up have ill feels towards me. What should I do?

My friends always call me an "athiest" but I am not! I made a joke one day that "I have no religion!" and then they alled me athiest!! I do not attend church because I never have the time, that doesnt help at all. How do I get them to stop callin me an athiest. Don't say get better friends they are just joking, but it gets annoying.

My dog attacked someone on the weekend and had to be put down. I am so devasted I can barely get out of bed. I've never been so upset. I'm a christian, and have faith in God. I've always prayed for my pets protection. Can another christian please explain why this happened if I prayed for his protection? I don't want to lose my faith, but I just don't understand. I believe he is a natural force that is hard to explain. He isn't the old man with a white beard sitting on a throne; he is a force that is a creator and the ultimated decider. Even Einstein believed in God, and Einstein had the same thoughts that I have about God.

If so, that upsets me.

What if the gunman in Virginia asked for forgiveness right before he killed himself...I don't want him to be in heaven with me.

If I tell 33 lies in my life (I admit, I will tell many many many more than that- just being brutally honest), does this mean that God considers me as sinful as the killer in Virginia, and the killer is equal to me in those terms?

I know I just asked a very hard question with lots of information. Please, I would appreciate it if someone took the time to give me a detailed answer. What is Buddhism exactly? What do Buddhist believe? Do they pray/believe in God, or do they pray to the Buddha? Who was the Buddha, and what did he teach? Is it true there has been other Buddhas, and if so who/what did they do? Is there a Buddhist...bible, or something of the sort? I thank anyone and everyone in advance who takes the time to answer my long, long question! **I would like to see Buddhism from two sides: one from a follower, and one from someone educated in Buddhism, if possible.
