God is love......we should live our lives to glorify him because the world is good and we should show our appreciation through prayer and religious activism

Well I don't think God has human shortcomings. Nor is God insecure, sadistic, jealous or selfish. So basically, I don't believe in the Abrahamic version of God. I think the highest God is a natural part of the universe and universal consciousness. It is All. I think God is so far beyond human comprehension that we'll never completely understand the complete nature of God, and God exists both in and out of our dimension and space/time.

Richard Dawkins put it best. Just by reading the Bible, the Christian God is a god that is
"Jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully."
...that just about covers him.
Disagree with me if you like... I'm expecting at least 4 thumbs-downs from the believers.
...but I'll bet I hold a trump card here.

I think he only exists on paper and in the minds of true-believers. I think that arguments over his true nature are pointless because Christians are apparently incapable of rational thought. Persons acting in God's name are historically responsible for most of the evil in this world.
