Not dumb, just lacking in understanding of epistemology. Two questions to consider.
1. Which of the following is true?
The universe,
A. Always existed
B. Popped into existence from nothing
C. Was created by a supernatural creator
2. Give an explanation in broad terms of how a simpler system could perform the necessary functions of a biological life form, which I believe must include processing raw materials, containing itself, encoding instructions, implementing instructions, chemical processing, and reproduction, the whole system is itself irreducibly complex.

Atheism is the state either of being without theistic beliefs, or of actively disbelieving in the existence of deities.
I think that atheism or theism can be smart or dumb, depending on the individual.

What's dumb is being so sure that your right about a certain way of thinking that you completely shut off the possibility that someone else might have an idea worth considering. Having an open mind about everyones thoughts, ideas, and points of view is a commodity that is extremely rare, especially amongst zealots.

I don't think it's dumb, unless approached without thought or research. Like any other religious or philosophical choice, it should be seriously reserached. Most atheists I know are quite intelligent, and engaged in a great deal of research before becoming atheists.

As an atheist, I have to disagree with you. Also, please note that I will go on disagreeing with you until you actually provide evidence to back your statements up. As it is you've just said 'atheism is dumb' without giving any reasons at all. Trust me, that kind of flawed arguing style does not reflect well on you at all, and I would recommend abandoning it.

It is up to an individual to believe what they choose. A person can freely believe or not believe in what they want and should not have to be concerned with it being called "dumb".
I choose to believe in God and His son Jesus. My belief does not give me any right to attack someone that does not believe as I do. Your question provokes an argument that need not exist.
