Okay, so for a second here you're God and all. On Earth, there's quite a number of good atheists. They always donate their money to charity, do good to others, yada yada yada, and yet they don't believe in You.

So one day, they died and met You. They would like admission to Heaven although while they were living they did not believe in You, in Heaven, in the Afterlife, and even asked others to do the same.

But still they were good people when they lived.

So if you were God in this situation, would you let them in? (based on their deeds), or would you deny them? (well I didn't doubt *YOUR* existence.)

Suddenly I saw a man appears from the sky with huge robe tell me to stop prosecuting his followers.

Should I stop from killing that man and tell the Pope that I'd saw this guy Jesus (I supposed),and them tell the pope to let me rewrite the New Testament all over again?

Or should I ignore it?

I've heard that you can't control your soul because God has them all. So what about the people that have broken oaths on them or sworn them to the devil?

Isn't it strange how the number 4 seems to pop up everywhere disproportionately in our society in contexts where any other number would seemingly be just as good? Why 4? Cars have four wheels and most of them are 4-cylinders (well, outside North America), buildings and architecture are based on rectangles with four corners, university studies last 4 years for a bachelor, the number "13" which pervades the US Dollar note numerologically totals 4, and the world's most successful car, the Toyota Corolla, has a numerological vowle value of 2x 13/ 4.
In music, you get the four as an important element, and in the Tarot, the four symbolizes the very thing our society is so great at - worshipping dead things.
Where can I read up on this? I'm sure I'm not the first to notice this stuff?

I am asking ligitimate questions here. Things I dont understand and I have more people telling me I am asking the wrong thing or I am stupid.
Is this how you would seriously bring someone closer to god?
Or maybe I am hitting a nerve because you know in your heart you have thought these same questions?

I was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness and remained one until age 11. Coming out of this cult, I entered my teenage years as a bitter atheist where I remained until I graduated from college. Through God’s amazing grace I was saved in 1994 after reading the Bible and realizing that it was indeed the true Word of God. Repeatedly God has blessed me with the passion and privilege to witness to the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

You’ve almost certainly had them come knocking on your door on a Saturday afternoon and you may have even engaged a Jehovah’s Witness in a theological discussion. In talking to other Christians I find that when presented with a face-to-face encounter with a Jehovah’s Witness there are usually two responses: 1) A "frontal assault" via debate or heated discussion; or 2) A polite "no thanks, I’m already a Christian" followed by an all too abrupt closing of the door. For the mature Christian, what’s usually missing is the realization that this is a true witnessing opportunity—one that has arrived right at your doorstep. In my earliest attempts at grabbing the proverbial bull by the horns, I tried engaging them in direct debates, often quoting from several texts I had studied regarding the cultic practices of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

After several failed "conversion" attempts, often ending with thoroughly frustrated Jehovah’s Witnesses unwilling to ever return to my residence, I arrived at a startling realization: Jehovah’s Witnesses are real people, with real needs and real feelings. They can feel frustration, anger, fear, and confusion. I then realized that the reason my frontal assaults on the Jehovah’s Witnesses never seemed to work was because I had not put myself in their place and taken their feelings into account. A wise man once said, "When you want to get someone’s attention, you don’t shine a flashlight in their eyes." In presenting my arguments and facts without giving them time to prepare, I had forgotten that they were human beings searching for the truth. I had not been speaking this truth in love.

Months later, when I was again presented with an opportunity to speak with Jehovah’s Witnesses at my door, I engaged them in conversation, and agreed to do a weekly Bible study with them in order to further discuss what exactly they believed. They agreed, with the understanding that along the way I would ask questions whenever we arrived at a topic or subject with which I disagreed or failed to understand. The amazing difference was that instead of blindsiding them with questions and points of contention, I was giving them an opportunity to prepare themselves for a topic of discussion. More importantly, though, I began to care about them personally and yearn for their salvation. In this way, I am able to meet with Witnesses on a weekly basis and take them off the streets, focusing on critical topics such as the requirement that one be born again to enter the kingdom of God, the unbiblical theology of a two-class system of believers, and the true identity of Jesus Christ.

Ok, so ever since I decided to leave the Catholic Church and start down on my own path, I've been meditating out in the woods by a small river, and during my meditations, I've been talking to Divinity (or God as some of you would call it) and I wrote it down in a journal and then typed it up. Looking back at what I have written, I wonder which Nature base religion is right for me. For those who wants to see the notes, here they are.

Blaise Pascal, a 16th century mathematician coined the famous question known as Pascal's Wager. Paraphrased, it goes like this:

If you choose to believe in God and he doesn't exist, you've lost nothing. If he does you'll spend eternity in Heaven. However, if you deny God and upon death you're proven wrong, you'll spend eternity in hellfire. The logic being, it's statistically more advantageous to believe in God than the inverse.

There are countless problems with this logic scheme. What are they. Or better yet, tell me why you think it makes sense.

1:27 So God created humans in his image. In the image of God he created them. He created them male and female.

So he created man and female, but there was no living man or female on earth..

2:7 Then the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the earth and blew the breath of life into his nostrils. The man became a living being.

Still no sign of a fremale. The man was created then formed, The female was created but not formed...

2:18 Then the LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is right for him."

Here Im thinking, "Ok, this is when females become formed... but I was wrong..."

2:19 The LORD God had formed all the wild animals and all the birds out of the ground. Then he brought them to the man to see what he would call them. Whatever the man called each creature became its name.

Ok so God created humans, made them male and female. He then proceeds to make a male human, and expects him to be satisfied with animals..

I am an athiest and have been on Yahoo Answers for quite some time and you know what.... all these bible thumpers with their preaching is really effecting me...

I am this close to converting because of them!

What fine specimens we have here online! I mean... they are all trying to convert us... so I'm thinking why not? It sure is easier to be influenced by strangers online than if real life!

So my question is: Any other Athiests out there that are close to converting with me because of all the religious people out there asking us to convert on a whim simply because they are asking us?

The idea that upon your death you will simply cease to exist? Does this depress you or cause anxiety that this is all there is? I am a Christian and believe I will live on, but I am curious what it would be like to truly believe I would end for all time. I think I would fear death. How do you feel?

And no, margaret sanger wasn't a racist who merely happened to promote abortion by chance. She promoted it because she was a racist who wanted to eliminate undesirables like the poor. Abortion today is just a reverse psychology version of eugenics masquerading as "womens' rights" and "liberalism". Instead of saying that they want to eliminate the poor, abortion activists say that they are trying to solve poverty by reducing the birth rate of the poor. And instead of it being racist to support abortion, it's now "racist" not to support abortion. Of course you may also be able to reduce poverty simply by elimination of the population of poor people, but it's a pretty twisted way of doing it, because it's basically saying that some people's lives are not worth living compared to others.
