Anybody who's been a Christian for more than about ten minutes should probably have figured out that not everyone is going to love what we have to say and welcome us with open arms.
I am now and always have been too much of a realist to expect that being a Christian is going to make me popular with the world in general. Sometimes the viciousness of some people's questions and replies will startle me a bit, but I can't say that I'm particularly shocked by it.

New Christians, new to Yahoo probably are a bit set back when they begin reading here. You see, before they are Christians the world (and satan) are contented to ignore them. But as soon as they start looking at a bible or going to church, all those who resent God start watching them. The new Christian is not fully prepared for the scathing hatred spewed by the Godless and so they need to be supported and informed by those who have been subjected to it in the past. I tell ALL new church members to expect to hear some very negative comments from people who used to be friends or who ignored them in the past.

I thought it would be more discussion of specific religious beliefs from the various factions of Christianity etc. And yes, at first I was shocked to see the hate....but realized that this is to be expected from those who do not believe.
I have learned to Trust in God and to have peace so nothing really affects me now. After all, the nay sayers and haters are only human as am I and that makes them foolish in God's eyes. Any wisdom I might have comes only through my trust in God.

I ignore most of the rude scoffing. Those people who do have intelligent questions, asked honestly, I love to answer.

That seems to be pretty common, judging by the number of "Why are atheists here?" questions by people with 100-500 points.
