Athiests before the time of Christopher Columbus mocked the bible because it said the earth was round.
Obviously they could not fight the bible on its morality because that was proof in life against those that chose immorality. for example not for the Bible's stand for marriage honor, salvation John 3 repent and be born again John 3-Jesus words, hope/joyfull anticipation of heaven and the more abundant life on earth but because the bible said the earth was round and even an 'idiot' knew it had to be flat!

To indoctrinate your children with religion? My Dad let me go to church if I wanted and also gave me lifts to other faiths meatings so that I could explore and make up my own mind. In the end after much research I just had to become an atheist. I do believe it is cruel.
