The entire New Testament is written from the perspective of a small cult that had no belief, or even concept, that they would actually succeed

It was such an impossibility in their minds, that the only thing they could imagine was the destruction of the entire world (what they knew of it) and a small band of motley believers who escape the end because of their faith.

The fact that their religion would actually be accepted by Rome and become dominant is never even hinted at, except in the 'End of the World' scenarios, and only after Jesus came back.

Poor planning if you ask me, and not very prophet like.

For example, we all know that the laws declare that murder, stealing and lying (perjury & fraud) are against the illegal and enforceable. But these are practically universal, regardless of the religion of the country.

However, Christians have other moral/ethical obligations.

What rules are Christians willing to relegate only to themselves, and which ones do they insist that other people obey, even if they are not members of the Christian faith?

I believe most Pagans/ Wiccans believe this "golden rule", if I may call it that,
"An it harm none, do as thou wilt"
And I think this rule is a great one and sums up many things. But what about people who do things that harm others? They get bad karma...ok, who or what 'causes' this karma? Is it the Pagan Gods & Goddesses as a punishment for the bad deed? And does it depend on the degree of the badness of this deed (For instance: Defaming someone versus murdering him/her, they both do harm).
And final question, what if the person did bad things all his life (He/she killed, raped, stole, lied...) and lived a good life, and even died after a long time (Lived long), what will this person face after his death? Will he face the bad karma he didn't face in his/her life after he/she dies?

Thanks in advance.

a few christians have invited me to debate religion via email. but it seems that once they realize they can't convert me they accuse me of being cruel for engaging in honest, open debate.

don't they get enough validation in the real world, where in the U.S. something like 85% of the population agrees with them?

And after those thousand years the devil will be released on the earth again.

Why???
And what happens??
And for how long?
Are we back to pg one? Is history supposed to repeat itself? Instead of a son, God will send down a daughter to save everyone???

After waiting his turn to take part in a question-and-answer session during the "Islam in America" conference at Harvard last weekend, a young man approached the microphone, introduced himself, and said, "I'm a Muslim, and therefore, by definition, I'm a feminist."

Boukhari,Volume 9, Book 92, Number 422:

Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri:

The Prophet said, "You will follow the ways of those nations who were before you, span by span and cubit by cubit (i.e., inch by inch) so much so that even if they entered a hole of a mastigure, you would follow them." We said, "O Allah's Apostle! (Do you mean) the Jews and the Christians?" He said, "Whom else?"

There is a local preacher who advertises his church here regularly. He always ends his commericals with the phrase, "If I can't show it to you in the Bible, then you have no obligation to believe it".

Is there any question that cannot be answered within the Bible?
