God, in his infinite wisdom, has allowed Satan to operate in this world and has allowed Satan to operate with an agenda. When the Bible gives power to Satan over the world it must be made clear that God has given him domain over unbelievers, and unbelievers alone. Believers are no longer under the rule of Satan (Colossians 1:13). Unbelievers, on the other hand, are caught "in the snare of the devil" (2 Timothy 2:26), lie in the "power of the evil one" (1 John 5:19), and are in bondage to Satan (Ephesians 2:2).

thought there was no God. If there is no God there is no Satan but the way that I understand everything: is that the World is the Devil's playground and he can seek out and devour all of us that he can and then God is going to take the Earth back and everyone who gave in to the devil and was not washed clean of their sins goes to hell. As far as Job goes I understand the story as being like a bet between God & the devil and the devil did all kinds of S**t to Job and yet Job still trusted God and God won the bet
Depends on what you believe I suppose

Your question starts with a pair of assumptions that, if valid, would be supported by the answers other have submitted. Specifically, your question assumes that God exists and also that the devil exists.
Provided that both conditions hold true, then the answers other people have provided will do nicely. However there is a different way of looking at this question that many people find appropriate.
Imagine that there isn't two separate people, God and Satan. Instead, look at the question like physics would look at heat or light. What is heat, the absense of cold. What is light, the absense of dark. They are on opposite sides of the same continuum. It isn't like there is a guy named heat in a battle with cold, nor is light in a battle with dark.
Thus when you look at power between good and evil on earth, you don't need to be confined to God vs. Satan. That is an Old Testament perspective, and to be fair, that may be what you intended when you posed the question. Instead, look at it from a perspective of God vs. godless-ness. There need not be a struggle between God and some other entity, but rather when a person is not with God they are outside of divinty.
Good luck.

Devil is a angel. He does not have no where near the power of God. If He did he would not have to ask God for permission to attack Job. He could just take Job's life freely. The devil only has the power of influence and he works through people's flesh and their sins to accomplish what he wants to do. As someone wrote already, he does not have power over God's people unless they yield unto him. The Lord Jesus said in Luke, "I saw Satan fall from the sky like lightning, therefore I give you authority to trample over snakes and scorpions.....". As for Job, if you read the story of Job carefully, you will find he had sin in his life which opened the door for the devil to come in and attack him.

In the book of Job the devil only had the power god allowed him to excercise.
In general, the devil or god only have power if people allow them to excercise that power. God or the devil cannot influence people who will not accept that influence.

That is a simple one. There is opposition in all things. The purpose of life is for us to be tried and tested through this life to a life of holiness. (Lev 2:20) We cannot attain eternal life unless we use the Atonement of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to overcome a fallen world. That is why the devil is allowed to tempt us. However, I think that it is better if we understand that God never gave Satan power over us. He never gave him power, for we are free to act, not to be acted upon.(2Nephi 2:14) God gave us moral agency. The power lies in us. We make the choices after having two roads placed before us, and the devil only has power as "we" give it to him. Then we either receive a moral reward for following Christ, or a just punishment of separation from God. Hope this helped.

Angels have a lot of power. Yes, the devil is just a fallen angel.
However, they do not have the power to create.
So your answer would be no. The devil does not have the power to create life. Nor the power to even create a rock. His only power is to manipulate.

Well I would actually say that seeing how most christians profess and the bible also that this is the devils domain and he has all power over the earth than obviously the devil is exercising more power than god.

Satan has Complete control over the earth untill the End of Days. He is given power by God, to be able to lead people astray. So yes he does but only because The Lord lets him.

If you read Job, you will see that Satan kept having dialog with God, and that God only allowed Satan to tempt or afflict Job with certain things. The fact the Satan had to keep going back to God to ask him to remove his protection from Job tells us that God had all the power.
