pascal's wage is an ideology, where pascal deduce that it would be safer to be a person of faith than compared to a person without faith(atheist).his reason being that you lose nothing believing in god because if god happened to be what faith decribes him as....it would be good for the believer and bad for the infedels.

To sum up it means "Better to be safe than sorry"
Pascal was just being a it over annalytical and obviously struggling with his faith...Or lack there of. Really he broke it down into 2 parts you either believe or you dont believe. And its better to believe in God and go to heaven then not believe and possibly face hell.
So he was saying so what if it doesnt make any sense and there is no proof, you might as well believe in him so you can avoid the trip to hell just in case he could exist.
It's the dumbest thing anyone could ever say because I believe in being true to yourself no matter what consequences that may endure and also if God did exist, and you followed Pascal's wager....Thats like not giving god enough credit..as if a god couldnt really tap into your head/heart to see what is really there.
DRINK!

In his Wager, Pascal provides an analytical process for a person to evaluate options in regarding belief in God. As Pascal sets it out, the options are two: believe or not believe. There is no third possibility.
Therefore, we are faced with the following possibilities:
You believe in God.
If God exists, you go to heaven: your gain is infinite.
If God does not exist, your loss (the investment in your mistaken belief) is finite and therefore negligible.
You do not believe in God.
If God exists, you go to hell: your loss is infinite.
If God does not exist, your gain is finite and therefore negligible.
In brief, he is saying it is better to believe in God in life and find that He doesn't exist after death, than to not believe in God in life and find that He does exist after death.
Personally I think that Pascal's Triangle is just as interesting...

Heather's correctly succint. Life your life as though there were a retributive God out to punish all wrongdoers in the afterlife and you shouldn't get punished the afterlife. On other hand, you could just live your life doing unto others as you would have them do unto you.

If God is real and you choose not to believe, you'll burn in Hell. If God is not real and you choose to believe, you've lost nothing. It is therefore wisest to believe.
Personally, if God actually were real, I'm certain He'd reserve a special place in Hell just for those who pretend to believe because they're imitating Pascal.
It's after noon, so what the Hell..... Cheers! (glug, glug, gulp)

It wasn't very good; he never could get a good job because he was always rambling about betting on the afterlife.
