That after he has his son/Himself Crucified for our sins...Christianity would run rampant. I mean He allowed Judiasm to flourish for hundreds of years, so much so that he even layed down a huge set of instructions and worshiping techniques. Just to have it all flipped around for Christianity....And whats up with the Jews being the "Chosen" people? I mean whats the point of it was all ment to change after Jesus died? Sounds like a load of Crap to me. Anyone else Agree?

This is so tacky. You would think they would embrace him as a true brother. He certainly made his sentiments clear, but most of all,he lived out all his fantasies and beliefs. Isn't a little hypocritical to take this "less said the better" attitude, just because he got bad press? Let's face it,with two billion Christians and a billion Muslims, atheists kind of need a saint of their own,and also some inspiration. Joe showed you The Way,so why not follow it? You've got to admit - he had the courage of his convictions. Great patron of science, too.

Is it to believe in Jesus? If what we must do to get into heaven is believe in Jesus and accept him as he "suffered for our sins", what about before he came? How did people get to heaven than? I suppose when Jesus came god said "Ok people, the rules have changed, now you must believe and accept Jesus to get to heaven" forget what i told you to do before? How did they get to heaven before Jesus? It's rediculous, really and please don't result to personal insults because you disagree cause that's just SAD.

If there was an unbeliever reading this, what prayer would you leave for them ?..Also what web address (if you know of one) would you leave for them to recieve more information ? for example: bibleontheweb.com

for example: Father in the name of Jesus, I ask you to work a special blessing right now for all who are reading this, for we know that you are a right now GOD..We stand together asking you to bind the spirit of fear, confusion, and unbelief away from all non-believers who are reading this right now, in the name of JESUS..We also stand together asking you to loose a desire for them to have an even more hunger of your word..May everyone who is reading this become baptized by water and spirit in JESUS name..Father allow every prayer.. that your children shall share today, plant a power seed in every unbelievers life, that you will increase in a mighty miraculous way as soon as possible..We stand together asking you this in prayer, In Jesus name we pray, amen and amen..

is the bible in danger of becoming obsolete, or irrelevant?

A generation ago, it was deemed irrefutable, and undeniable. Today, its facing an inspection and examination, on a scale virtually unthinkable amongst past generations.
Is faith and conviction, robust and sturdy enough to hold christianity together,..... because more and more people are utilizing objective bible examination, than ever before.

Faith and trust seems to be losing ground to consideration and assessment.

Agree or Disagree?.....

I've been through it 7 times and never found it. But I did find this:

Leviticus 20:9 “For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.”

Judges 11:30-40 Jephthah killed his young daughter (his only child) by burning her alive as a burnt sacrifice to the lord for he commanded it.

Psalms 137:8-9 Prayer/song of vengeance “0 daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us. Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.”

2 Kings 6:28-29 “And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow. So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son.”

Sounds like god likes kid killing over free-willing

I think alot of Christians have this image of Jesus ,as just walking on water ,performing miracles, and speaking in parables concerning the kingdom of God . Many think thats probably all he did . That would make for a very pious Jesus and one who sinners and such wouldnt want to hang out with(and that is who Jesus hung out with and prefered to hang out with). Many Christians nowadays would be more comfortable hanging out with the Pharisiss , then they would with the Jesus of the New Testament. And I'd bet Jesus would feel the same way.

Truth is less about facts than we tend to think. George Carlin gets that, so why can't atheists? On the flip side, why can't Christians understand it's okay to use logic? You both have a thing or two to learn from George Carlin, so watch this bit:

Here in Phoenix we have an easter pagent that runs about a week or so. Every day there were people out there waving signs and shouting taunts but when I started to ask questions they would either not give a direct answer or would interupt so I couldn't ask my question or make my point. Is it just me or do people like this need a life?

If one crazy person, claiming he's the son of god..., claims he spoke with the devil... isn't the devil just another crazy person saying he's a fallen angel...think hard now :)

In todays publication of the Chicago Sun Times (4/10/07), the cover story reads "In God We Trust", the University of Chicago surveyed over 2000 physicians nationwide and here are some of the results.........

54% believe God has intervened w/ their patients help
76% believe God has helped patients cope w/ their illness.

Non believers take pride in science and logic. Well here are some of the highest educated people in our country in a proffesion based on [Medical] Science, saying they feel God has made a difference in curing there patients.

Sometimes people will freely admit that there is no valid argument or evidence for the existence of a god, but say that they have faith, and that that is enough for them. In that case though, how do you decide which god to believe in, what his characteristics are, which parts of dogma to accept and which to reject, and so on? How can you be sure that the Bible is the true word of this god, and not (for example) the Qur'an? Do you just go with what you're comfortable with, what you were brought up with?
