How we worship:

We have three meetings every week at which we recieve spiritual instruction and encouragement. In addition to those occassions, we also engage in a field ministry work. This is how we are most easily recognized. We go out from door-to-door and in other venues to preach about God and Christ.

We do indeed celebrate weddings, anniversaries and funerals. Weddings are as joyous of a celebration for us as it is to someone of another faith. Weddings can either be performed in our Kingdom Halls (church building) or another hall or garden/beach, wherever. Funerals are held in some parts of the world, and in other places we have simply a memorial service. For example, I am from California, and here it is very unusual that someone is buried; most are cremated. So in this situation we generally just have a memorial service at the kingdom hall.

The scriptures state in Genesis 8:21 "...the inclination of the heart of man is bad from his youth up." So humans are born sinful. This is because of inherited sin from our first parents, Adam and Eve. It is not because people want to be, they are simply born that way. However, the Bible was provided to give us instructions as to how to live our lives in a way pleasing to God. So we can fight against our sinful tendencies at least a little bit.

I hope this helps you! If you need any more info please email me bada1912@yahoo.com :-)

Hi. First let me say your best bet is to call a Kingdom Hall and ask them directly as you will stand a better shot of being answered by an actual Witness. We believe that it is of the utmost importance to serve Jehovah god. We believe that Jesus is Jehovah's son and that he is a good example of how to act. We strive to follow the teachings found in the Bible.

We do celebrate weddings. (remember Christ's first recorded miracle was at a Wedding reception.)

Some do celebrate anniversaries. Some couples I know don't.

We do have funeral services. Allot of what happens depends on the wishes of the deceased and the decedent's family's wishes.

As for inclination, the Bible shows that we ALL inherit sin, all the way back to Adam and Eve. However, we ALL have free will and as such have the option to strive to do what is right.

Hope this helps.

Each Jehovah's Witness is well-trained to preach the "good news" of bible truth, but not as a spokesman for one of the world's most prominent religions. It would be irresponsible for a scholarly researcher to pretend that any arbitrary adherent is a better spokesman for a religion that the religion's own official spokesman.

In the United States, J.R.Brown is the official spokesman of Jehovah's Witnesses.

The official websites of Jehovah's Witnesses contain literally hundreds of articles regarding their understanding of the bible, and of God and Christ.

Jehovah's Witnesses typically choose to celebrate weddings and wedding anniversaries, but do not "celebrate" funerals. Jehovah's Witnesses generally respect community practices regarding funerals, but a Witness funeral is always in harmony with bible truth about the condition and hope of the dead.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe the bible to teach that humankind was created perfect without a tendency toward sin and imperfection. Until the effects of Jesus' sacrifice are fully applied, humankind will continue to suffer from imperfection and a tendency toward sin.

nicely a similar way that we've a own call and ought to favor to be spoke of as by using our call instead of guy, female, Boy & so forth is an analogous way that God feels. Psalms 80 3:18 says "would human beings comprehend that you, whose call is Jehovah,You on my own are the most extreme over each and each and every of the earth." the very shown reality that his call is reported in the Bible shows God needs his call to be established & considering the fact that we are his witnesses or followers, we are spoke of as Jehovah's Witnesses.

Surf chik did a good job giving you an overview of our beliefs, I am going to also include a link to the official Jehovah's Witness web site. From there you can explore even further what we believe.

Also, here is a link to a brochure that discusses our beliefs as well as the scriptural reasons behind them.
