One can only hope.
Religion has been obsolete and irrelevant for centuries. It just keep clinging on through emotional manipulation and child indoctrination.
As we become a more rational and reason people, we'll leave these superstitions behind. I just hope it comes sooner than later.

I disagree, there are more Christians on this earth than ever before! It is still deemed irrefutable and undeniable!! Don't be fooled, it has been under inspection and examination for two thousand years and is still going strong!!! Maybe the people and information you are obtaining leads you to believe that "faith and trust seems to be losing ground to consideration and assessment". I suggest you search for some more people and I see you are seeking additional information on Yahoo Answers! Good job!!

I disagree. I do think that your statement "A generation ago, it was deemed irrefutable, and undeniable" is wrong. There have always been unbelievers, atheists, all the same arguments for why there is no God...have been around for centuries. Nothing new.
If anything I think there has been a upsurge in conservative, traditional Christians...getting back to the basics of faith and following Christ. Maybe it just has to do with what circles you hang around in.

Buddhism is the number one religion in the world by far, Christianity is a close second.
When one studies Buddhism, it's a more rational religion than Christianity which was tampered with quite some time ago.
That Bible was re written and parts omitted to suit the rulers during Constantine's era that its not even an original inkling of what it was and people who don't know this keep thumping it over and over again with watered down scriptures to prove how faithful they are.
So, your question of reassessment is truly irrelevant. One abandons what no longer serves them when you become aware of the truth. Meaning, you never look back once you know its not real.
There are millions and billions of us who now know the difference between mythology and science.
Science continues to get closer and closer to explaining why we exist in the first place and fundamentalists will fight to the death to suppress that information if they could get away with it.

Disagree -- at least down here in Missouri where I live, anyway. God, Christ, the Bible, and faith are all very much alive and well.
Churches are flourishing, and people aren't ashamed to admit that they are Bible-believing Christians. Drive by any block in my town, and you'll probably see the Ten Commandments or some expression of faith in the front yard of several houses. Christian bumper stickers are common on vehicles, and we are proud to display the Cross of Christ on our persons and in our homes.
We're Christian, and we'll say so right up front.

Disagree. Your question is, believe it or not, along the lines of upholding the authority of the Bible. That this appears to be happening is a hopeful sign. In 1 Timothy it tells us that in the latter days many would depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. Actually, I'm glad. It's time to seperate the wheat from the chaff.

Agree. The overall American population has drifted from firm belief. They question things and are not willing to accept what they cannot interpret or understand. Some are also too lazy to read the Bible, and therefore accept all its teachings without ever knowing if what their pastor is preaching is true or not.
The Bible, for Americans, will soon be no more than a history book. As for the rest of the world, they don't seem to want to budge...

Everything you said doesn't change what the Bible says.
Jesus said these words..."The gates of hell will not prevail against my church."
John Lennon said in 1966, " Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. I needn't argue about that. I'm right and will be proved right. We're more popular than Jesus now. I don't know which will go first__Rock and Roll or Christianity. Jesus was alright but his disciples were thick and ordinary and this is what ruins it for me."
Christianity is still here and so is Rock and Roll. But in the eighties it was Lennon who went out.
The young girl who went with her friends to party and her mother told her, "Go with God, dear daughter." and the daughter answered, "If he rides in the trunk. It's aready filled up here." and soon their car was smashed in a car wreck. They all died. But strangely the trunk was intact and a crate of eggs were found in the trunk and not one was broken.
God will never be obsolete.

God is not losing ground, Satan has already lost. He is causing all the trials,& troubles because he knows his time is coming to an end soon. The human heart & mind are Satan's battleground now, but after the rapture of the church
the physical battle will be fought on earth in Israel.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, & tomorrow.
Come Lord Jesus

People are falling away as forecast.
The falling away will happen before Jesus arrives.
It is happening at a pretty good clip from what I see.
The key is:
When people call the Bible a lie.
When they call it a book of myths and fairy tales.
When they say it was written by men.
When they say it isn't the word of God.
When they say that it was translated too many times and what was there is lost.
