good question.
heres another one.
Why did he give girls so much power over guys with that sexaul power.
Ie how comes lap dancers can earn 20 time more then bar staff and most uni jobs and why do guys spend so much on jewels and try to impress girls so hard to get with them.
Now a veil would stop that.
emmmn
bit like kryptonite and superman.
Old men scared of girls power and dont wantgirls in control of their life so say they want to protect them only its a lie as if they did they would teach them how to fight.
Modesty = weakness.
Oh and a veil was origonally to keep sand out of your face in a sandstorm and whereing one outside a desert is like whereing a life jacket in one.
they mke girls think they need this protection so they dont realise the power they have

The veil was originally designed to instill "Modesty" in a culture that at the time had very little. Many cultures have used this as a tool to reduce immoral actions by both the male and the female. Modesty is dying in the world today. Scarves on females are used to cover the crown of the head (Or Arsh), which is considered to be the "Throne of God" in the true Islamic tradition. I personally feel if the heart of a woman is filled with goodness there is nothing wrong with letting the light of God shine from an illumined face. Beauty is in the heart of the beholder.

God made all things beautiful - whether to hide behind a veil or not, it's man's decision! In the Middle East, it's not only the women who cover their faces with veils, the men also cover themselves up with scarfs and this has more to do with protection from the weather (sun) and the sandstorms, dust, etc. The use of veils depends more on culture of the people.

You're asking the question in a wrong way, assuming that God wants all women behind veils.
For Christians, women put themselves behind face veils as a show of modesty and chastity, typically at weddings. It's a custom and symbolic for the above reasons.
For Muslims, a face veil is not required. Some women do it for reasons of modesty, as they do not like being stared at by men not in their families. They see it as treasuring their beauty and not showing off to the world.
Often, when people say "veil" they really mean the headscarf, or "hijab." Many Muslims consider that a requirement in the faith, although it is arguable among many Muslims based on how specific verses in the Quran are interpreted. It's similar to some groups of orthodox judaism where women should keep their hair covered or not shown to people outside the family. Muslim women do take their coverings off when they are with family and non-strangers. Like the previous example, it's done for reasons of modesty and a devotion to God. Christian Nuns wear a similar headcovering, known as a "habit." Mary, the mother of Jesus (peace be upon them both), also is depicted in every painting as having some sort of headscarf on, as she was seen as modest and pious, which is what the hijab has come to symbolize today.

First of all, God didn't make women. The human species evolved over thousands of years.
Also, beauty is literally in the eye of the beholder. Sure, society can tell us what is supposed to be beautiful, but each and every man is attracted to specific characteristics of the female body and face. Those attractions are different for every man, just like women find different types of men attractive.
Lastly, the reason many women wear veils is BECAUSE they are beautiful. They see the body as a temple, something that should be preserved until you find your true love/soulmate and then that person should be the only person in your life that is worthy enough to view the beauty under the veil.
A common misconception is that women of Islam are forced to wear the full body covering. Except in parts of absolute and total dictatorship and controlling governments, many women CHOOSE to wear the veil and body covering. To them, it means much more for a single man to see their beauty than for the entire world to oggle at it.
American culture is so crazy.

If the God written in the scriptures existed then he wouldnt have wanted women to hide their faces. He would not have asked for our lives to be made more difficult/complex in order to respect him.
It is a manipulation of the scriptures but it could be for one of two reasons.
(1) caused by male dominance over women. I think that it is more about men trying to hide how unattractive or attractive their wive is to other men. To prevent rape/adultery.
(2) Generally and historically, white skin is considered more attractive than tanned as it was related to the wealth of the family. A "whiter" wife would mean a wealthy family as she wouldnt have to work the fields. A veil would reduce tanning and chance of skin disease.

God created women to be the helpers of men. He made us beautiful to please men and to draw them to us. However, it is man that instituted the use of the veil to hide his bride on the day of marriage. It is still man that demands that his wife be covered up so as not to entice the notice of other men. Men are territorial but God made them that way so that they would protect us. Unfortunately, men and women have left the purpose of their creation for their own fleshy and selfish pursuits. So neither men nor women are currently experiencing the full joy of what God intended.

God has nothing to do with the veil- its all down to the stupid muslim men who continue to make up islmaic rules to control women. Everything that constitutes being muslim can be explained in a simple sentance; lying, deceiving, murdering, intolerant, bigamist, backward, ignorant muslims.

I don't think God meant for women to be shrouded with a veil all the time. Apparently, certain Middle Eastern customs developed through the early centuries that prompted such a practice for the women.
I believe that women, and men, should dress modestly, but wearing a veil from head to toe is overkill.
