This is so tacky. You would think they would embrace him as a true brother. He certainly made his sentiments clear, but most of all,he lived out all his fantasies and beliefs. Isn't a little hypocritical to take this "less said the better" attitude, just because he got bad press? Let's face it,with two billion Christians and a billion Muslims, atheists kind of need a saint of their own,and also some inspiration. Joe showed you The Way,so why not follow it? You've got to admit - he had the courage of his convictions. Great patron of science, too.

Yeah, just one problem: He slaughtered his own people based on his fanatical political/personal views and had a very screwed up sense of ethics.

The problem is no so much religion or non-religion, but tyranny over the people, for any reason. Same issue with Mao Zedong.

Atheism isn't like religion. It's simply the lack of belief in any deity. Whatever baggage they bring with it is their own.

I'm an atheist, and I don't support violence or execution. I derive the later from my studies of ethics, morality, and representative democracy, not necessarily from my lack of a belief in god.

Every belief (or disbelief) system has it's monsters. Deal with it and remember, once upon a time, there was a man who said "Judge not, lest ye be judged yourself."

We do not need a saint because we do not worship anyone. We rule our own lives and do not let others tell us what to do.

He was an atheist, but that's not what made him kill people. You fail to understand that basic simple tidbit. Would it help if I typed it slower for ya?

Hateful, intolerant.. are you a christian? Is that what your religion turns people into?

(and you pretty much asked the same senseless question before already - give it a rest)

Why don't Christians claim Jeffrey Dahmer as their own? He espoused born-again Christian beliefs.
