In the Bible, it talks about God releasing plagues upon sinners. I believe that AIDS was created by God to punish homosexuals and people that have sex before marriage. I know this isn't popular to talk about because people have turned away from Jesus and have become more LIEberal, but the liberals out there need to read the Bible. Some of the stuff that happened back then is also happening now.

Just something to think about.

What are your thoughts?

First of all, which phrase do you think makes more sense.

Next, please tell me whether or not you think each of the following scenarios is considered a sin or not:

1. Executing a person who has been convicted of a major crime.

2. Shooting a man who's pointing a gun at you.

3. Shooting a man who's pointing a gun at a relative.

4. Shooting a man who's pointing a gun at a stranger.

5. You see a person walk into a crowded building and he appears to have explosives. To protect the people inside, you attack him.

6. Soldiers killing enemy soldiers.

7. You sell cars for a living. You see someone come to your shop and steal an expensive car. To stop him/her from getting away, you shoot at him.

8. You work at a convenience store. You see someone come to your shop and shoplift some candy. To stop him/her from getting away, you shoot at him.

Please feel free to answer as many or as few of the scenarios as you want. Use either religious or secular logic

HIS FAMILY WHAT HE IS MEANT FOR

Jehovah's Witnesses are the only ones that have ever knocked on my door. I was a return visit for over 18 years until I started studying the Bible. I prayed to God to find the truth and He sent his Witnesses to my door. The man that lived around the corner from me was a born again Christian but he never tried to help me. Jehovah's Witnesses did. What are your thoughts?

!. Quiet, Orderly. Singing the Hymns set out in the hand-out. Well-Reasoned sermon with lots of Documentation, thought-provoking, but not exciting. Medium social contact between members--but anyone can call anyone, at any time.
2.Modern with a Rock Band and a "hip" happy sermon. Think of Joel Osteen--he's huge, but his "sermons" are more self-help lectures with very few actual scriptural quotes--very happy, lots of social interaction among members. Lots of extras--Youth Groups, Sports Teams, extra classes etc...
3. A combination of the two, heavy interaction, lots of extras and Sermons that aren't always telling us that everything will be perfect if we just believe.
Disclaimer: No put-down of Joel Osteen is meant or should be Implied.

It's futile to blame most bad things on a single external source, rather than selfish desire, because anything can be corrupted for one's one gain. People kill each other over the time over power and wealth, and in most cases religion was simply used as a guise to obtain power or wealth. You really think the Spanish conquistadors were more interested in serving God than in acquiring gold and land? Spreading the faith was just a side benefit. Wars over land would happen regardless of religion. Just look at the Mongols and Alexander. I could just as easily argue that white men are the root of all evil, because many people have been killed to further white supremacy or that sex is evil because of rape, pedophilia, and aids. Most events in history are a lot more complex than what the person's religion was, so I suggest you look at all the possibilities instead or just using circumstantial reasoning to produce the conclusion you want.

I'm sure they didn't call it BC before they changed it. I'm curious to know about what year they did change the time. Also, if the time changed when Christ was born, how come the new year doesn't start on December 26th?

So, how come nails only come up in one Gospel, ie; John.

All the others just say he was "fixed to" the cross. Mathew, Mark, Luke, no mention. Only John.???

I mean what is the point of paying thousands of dollars on for caskets that are going to be put in the ground. What is the point? Some spend all that money on casket and the casket insurance. Why? I mean isn’t just easier and more efficient to burn the body to ashes and save money and space and nature.

And then sometimes Funeral Directors don’t even do what they say. And how are you to know if they did do something are not?

How about if we regard the evolution is the god"s way of making living things grow and develop?

or

if we regard the story of adam and eve as the symbolic one to explain human"s destiny who lost the heaven and must find his own way of living?

so actually we dont have to cling to adam and eve as our ancestor?

I just express my view you dont have to be hostile to me or scornful .

dont forget freedom of speech.

I am not chrstian , not atheist either.I am just spiritual person, if may I.

In the my Christian walk, I have been instructed to honor God and help people. I know that I have fallen short on helping people. What general ways do you think that one can accomplish this on a daily basis? Please no "god doesn't exist" replies. This does not help me.

Often I see a 'Do you believe in God' question on here, and invariably it is asked by a American christian completely failing to appreciate the fact that there are many belief systems and gods out there.

Now I appreciate the opportunity to snark as much as the next man but really, it is confusing the issue. Maybe C-God? or יהוה‎, YHVH, Yahweh, Adonai or Jehovah?

10 points to the most creative suggestion.
