In the my Christian walk, I have been instructed to honor God and help people. I know that I have fallen short on helping people. What general ways do you think that one can accomplish this on a daily basis? Please no "god doesn't exist" replies. This does not help me.

All you can do is be there for people. God will bring people to you who needs help from you. Just pray and ask God to use you on this day in a way that will bring glory to Him and His name and He will.
When you do come across someone who is having difficulty in their day, just tell them to turn it over to the Lord. If they don't know the Lord, ask them if they would like for you to introoduct Him to them.
What ever you do or say in your daily walk in life....
1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

Make helping people into a habit. If you are consciously thinking, "I am doing this for the glory of God," then pride gets in the way and you end up doing things just to get God-points.
Just be the best person you can be. After a time, you will just simply notice being closer to God. Be careful, though. After noticing, it is easy to think, "I did so good, God won't mind if I slack a little." You will end up sliding further back than you were.

wonderful question. I love to see people wanting to get more involved. I would save get involved with your church, I serve by running camera's and being a role-model for Jr' High students. It all depends on ur age and your abilities and gifts you have. God gives us all our own individual gifts. Think of the chirch as a bowl of ice cream. the ice cream is Jesus/ the church. now every person has their gifts. How much better will the ice cream be with all the toppings(all the gifts that people have... give them to God). I also write skits for highschoolers to do in front of Jr' high and compare it to our lives with Jesus chirst. Hey I suggest you read Romans... it is the most inspiratioonal book Iv'e read and I read it last night! I am on fire for God! I love u man! God Bless U and Take care my brother in Christ!

Encourage people you work with.
Volunteer to do chores at home.
I have volunteered at numerous places, including women's prisons...mental institutes...a ward of a hospital in Brooklyn that deals with AIDS patients...
