Narayana seva can be done by awakening a person to spiritual consciousness from the material consciousness.
On the material platform, there is the distinction between the poor and rich, black and white, brahmana and sudra, low caste and high caste, Hindu and muslim, communista and capitalist etc....This difffence creats friction between two parties fighting with each other.

But, when one comes to the spiritual platform and realising that the essential nature of everyone is the same spirit soul, then one achieves hormony and then can serve Narayana by enlightining others and bringing them in a eternal relationship with serving Narayana.

Lord Sri Krishna says in Bhagavad gita 5.18
The humble sages, by virtue of true knowledge, see with equal vision a learned and gentle brahmana, a cow, an elephant, a dog and a dog-eater [outcaste].

The Lord further says in 18.61,
The Supreme Lord is situated in everyone's heart, O Arjuna, and is directing the wanderings of all living entities, who are seated as on a machine, made of the material energy.

If one sees the living entities as part and parcels of Narayana and sees Narayana in everyone's heart irrespective of material distinction one can serve Narayana by enlightning others in this equal vision.

The Vedas say, Asato ma sad gamah, "Don't stay in this material existence. Come to the spiritual existence". This can be practically done by the help of the self realised soul and he can also practically engage one in Narayana Seva, because he is already engaged in Narayana Seva himself.

Sai devotees around the world believe Manava seva is Narayana seva. Serve mankind and you have served Lord Himself.
One convinient way to serve mankind is feeding them. Do not judge who is needy and who isn't. Just feed whoever comes to you for food as long as you can. That is Narayana seva.

Yes, as more than one have voiced, it's service to humanity. Nara = human, ayana = travel, seva = service. Therefore, Narayana seva = Service to human travel (life is the travel).
