Shaine, cut back on the bong for just a sec.
Love is a much maligned word. It is used in so many contexts that I do not think most could agree with any definition. Don't you?
Wisdom and enlightened self-interest have more of a chance; though, both are in short supply. If one understands that we are all here at the sufferance of others, then we have a chance to apply the Golden Rule: do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
And Shaine, I would take a radiation dose of 150 rem to save your life and I don't know you. That is a little love tossed your way.
Peace

I don't think anybody would disagree with that. But of course, it's a lot harder to do than to say. Because if we truly loved one another, then we would always put others' happiness before our own. Some people don't understand that. I knew this woman who used to phone me and insist that she loved me. I could never get through to her that if she loved me, she should leave me alone. Eventually I was just so unpleasant to her that she gave up.

No. Love is a chemical in your brain. And allowing your brain to control you is what causes problems. You control your brain, your brain produces chemicals that make your body feel emotion. You can choose how you allow yourself to FEEL on a situation. And love is no different than any other emotion.

Not if it means forgiving all murderer's, rapists, perversions, child molesters, child porn, and those who are accessories to the crime, and don't report it, Blasphemers, and those who are sinning against the Holy Spirit, no.

Sure "love" makes miracles
Love suffers long [and] is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;.
does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;.
does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;.
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
LOVE NEVER FAILS.
