Through my reading in Islamic history, I came across many incidents when prophet Muhammad sent his companions to raid other villages and loot them. One example was what was called "Sareyat Al Fuls" when prophet Muhammed sent his cousin (Ali Ibn Abu Talib) to raid another village to DESTROY a temple where that village people used to worship another god.

The Muslims raided the village, DESTROYED the temple, LOOTED what was in the temple as well as many cattles and valuables from the village homes. They also captured many people from the village and gave them the choice EITHER TO CONVERT TO ISLAM OR TO DIE. Some of them converted to Islam, while others preferred to DIE.

I was shocked when I read the above sory (along with many other stories). I have always thought that Islam has always preached high values.

Is it acceptable in Islam to commit all the above crimes?

ITC (instrumental transcommunication)is the paranormal investigating technique wherein you hook a camcorder up to a tv and use the camera to record the TV screen it is hooked up to, creating a repeating image within an image and eventually resulting in odd patterns that many have been claiming seeing faces in for years. specifically the faces of deceased that they know. Tell me your thoughts/experiences, if you don't believe it, that's cool, just don't be a sarcastic dick.

And sometimes when that persons not around I close my eyes and see them. Like I have never got this feeling from anyone else. It's intense and scary at the same time.

I am a spiritual person but not a church goer. I went to a revival this week and the roof actually did not cave in on me. I actually enjoyed it and was moved.

I am praying for a miracle in my marriage. Do you think it might work?

This could apply to any spiritual Gift? Not just prophecy. Also, if a person has been gifted with the ability reach many people when they share good news about the Lord, but they refuse to do so for various personal reasons, would the Lord prevent them from using their verbal and preaching Gifts in other areas where they would communicate well or lead others in business, self-help, etc? Has anyone had these gifts, but when you tried to use them contrary to God's will(but not in a bad way), you had difficulty, and your gifts seemed almost stagnated, or didn't' flow as freely?

I'm an atheist so I don't actually believe in God, but I would like to pose the question that if I'm wrong would He more likely be reasonable or unreasonable? What I mean is, I'm a good person, do good things and live a reasonably moral life - if after I die I wake up at the pearly gates am I more likely to be judged kindly for the good things I've done or condemned for my failure to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior. I'm holding on to reasonable myself, but the Old testament seems to sway in favor of unreasonable. Would that mean Ghandi is suffering eternal damnation? Many prisoners accept Jesus in prison because they don't have anything else to do - does that mean that droves of child molesters and serial killers are enjoying heaven while Ghandi is eating hell fire? Wouldn't the two most populous countries, China (not religious) and India (Hindi), be overrepresented in Hell or are there geo-political considerations when passing judgement?

I mean Christian and Islamic hardliners seem to be outbreeding and outcompeting the rest of us, occupying every ecological and social niche. They seem to be doing very well in a Darwinian sense.

I have a story to tell, it’s about this totally bizarre midwestern gal. All of her life she was nothing, most ordinary and unimpressive, then God found his way into her heart one night while she prayed. The first few chapters in the story are tantalizing stacked with greedy corruptions and lustful scandals of this poor country gal gone wild. The middle chapters express the passions and pleasures given by her One True Love. Inspiring the romance of her life and finally meeting the man of her dreams. As the chapters unfold the skies grow darker, there is terror looming. You will be shocked and horrified as the end of the story draws near. It becomes the thriller of all time. She is so frightened she dare not tread a single step off the path she follows to the Kingdom of God. And her journey becomes burdened with those who are stumbling along the way. She’s trying to gather them all and whisk them off to safety before the evil demon with piercing green eyes catches them and eats them. Will she make it; can they all get there on time?

Is there someone out there who could help me tell this story?

I have been wondering about what's after this life. Sometimes it is really scary to think about. Some people say oblivion. Some say Heaven. I am a Christian, but I am also too much of a realist and have doubts sometimes. I would like to have more faith, and believe that I will go to heaven, but that is not always the case.

I'm not concerned with whether or not Mormonism, Catholicism, or Protestantism are true or not. Mormonism is so different from other Christian faiths and denominations. If Mormonism is truely Christianity, then those Christian faiths and denominations that preceded it cannot be called Christian. It's like having an apple and an orange and then deciding to call them both apples.

I have never felt at home in Protestant churches except some Episcopal churches but US Episcopal is now pretty un-Biblical in their views of social issues. I really dislike the evangelical liturgy of a pop rock concert followed by a fifteen minute motivational speach. I much prefer the Catholic Mass because of the reverence, tradition and more meditative service. The fact they focus the service around Communion not around the preacher's message seems more meaningful as well. I also have a problem with the grape juice and crackers as only a metaphor when Catholics use wine and bread that are the body and blood like in the authentic Last Supper. Lastly, I like how the Catholic Church doesn't change with the times. It seems less about individual interpretation and more about the traditions that have been passed down from the original Church set up by Peter with Jesus' authority.
I'd just like feedback from Christian brothers and sisters of both the Catholic and Protestant traditions.

Many will say God does not cause certain afflictions, only Satan will do such things. However, when Zechariah doubted the angel who spoke for God, he was made mute until the birth of his son by GOD.

This made it difficult for Zechariah to interact or communicate socially with those around him. Yet during this time he was growing and learning.

God always has the best interests in mind for those He loves, even if we can't understand why he does or allows certain things. So if you're someone who doesn't believe in God, don't use this as an opportunity to say God is cruel.

Are there any reasons why God would use something such as mutism or other affliction to seperate a Christian from others TODAY for the purpose of disciplining or correcting them? If so, can you explain how and why?

Would it be for reasons similar to Zechariah such as lack of faith, rebellious attitude, such as with Jonah who refused to obey God, perhaps lack of faith, or something else?
