Through my reading in Islamic history, I came across many incidents when prophet Muhammad sent his companions to raid other villages and loot them. One example was what was called "Sareyat Al Fuls" when prophet Muhammed sent his cousin (Ali Ibn Abu Talib) to raid another village to DESTROY a temple where that village people used to worship another god.
The Muslims raided the village, DESTROYED the temple, LOOTED what was in the temple as well as many cattles and valuables from the village homes. They also captured many people from the village and gave them the choice EITHER TO CONVERT TO ISLAM OR TO DIE. Some of them converted to Islam, while others preferred to DIE.
I was shocked when I read the above sory (along with many other stories). I have always thought that Islam has always preached high values.
Is it acceptable in Islam to commit all the above crimes?

The old testament of the bible has many sories like this:
On the day Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the stone tablets containing the Ten Commandments, he discovers that the Israelites have created a golden calf. To punish the people, Moses gathers a group of men and takes the following action in the book of Exodus, Chapter 32:
Then he [Moses] said to them, "This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: 'Each man strap a sword to his side. Go back and forth through the camp from one end to the other, each killing his brother and friend and neighbor.' " The Levites did as Moses commanded, and that day about three thousand of the people died.
So... one minute we have Moses carving into stone, "Thou shalt not kill." Then the next minute we have Moses telling each man to strap a sword to his side and lay waste to thousands.
Don't despair muslim, because as you can see, judaism and christianity are equally barbaric....

Never heard of "Sareyat Al Fuls". You have not been reading from a muslim source, that is for sure.
If you have, then you must have taken it out of context.
Your profile reflects that you are always mocking Islam, therefore the above statement that you say must not be true.

Check out what Muhammed did to the Jews that used to live in Saudi arabia. There were four main tribes and he ordered three to be completely exterminated and expelled the fourth. In some Hadiths I believe Al Bukhari or Dawud it tells of the Banu Quaraza tribe where Mohammed spent a whole day decapitating captives. It said that it was between 600 and 900 Jews and then they took the women as sex slaves. Some still claim he was just like Jesus though.

im muslim and i've never heard of that, i've read the quran so you got that from one of those propaganda islam mocking websites. We muslims dont get agitated either; i personally know its a religion of peace so anyone else's bs wont change my thoughts. 1.5 billion ppl muslims all over the world, and many convert everyday; they wouldnt if it was a religion of hate and intolerance. Anyway, look at what israel is doing to palestine...i only have sypathy for those ppl, not intolerant terrorists

Well all Muhammed did was force people to believe . If they didn't he had them killed.
And took the women and children as captives.
Christains are totally different, from Muslims.

You have stepped in it now! Muslims get extremely agitated when some one mentions the origin of the 'religion of peace' and they really go off if the perversity their 'prophet' is brought up. Be ware the jihad!! :)

Little do people know, that Muhammad was a "highwayman", meaning a robber. He spend a good chunk of his life doing exactly that, raiding and stealing from others.
