I was just wondering... Christianity, Judaism, and Islam share similar principles of love, respect for human life, peace, and high moral principles. What might explain the animosity and violence between the groups throughout history?

If I say: "I don't believe that the God of the Koran is the same God as the one of the Bible", does that statement make me your enemy, or can you still respect me as a person even if we disagree?

What can you tell from following verse on the Character of GOD?

From the Following Verse :
Number Chapter 15

“Because he hath despised the word of the LORD,and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him.

And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man3that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day.

And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation.

And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him.

And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp.

And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died as the LORD commanded Moses. “

When we follow a leader, shouldn’t we access his personality first?
I always thought that GOD, should be “Loving”, “Kind” and “Forgiving”!...

Therefore,.... if he was a cowboy,.... would he have worn a cowboy hat, made out of leather.

Or would he have saved the cow,.... by wearing a straw hat, or paper hat....

Does religion have a role in the negligence in addressing this issue? I feel that thinking that some God is returning soon and will take care of everything for us may have some play in why we as a people haven't had much concern for green living?

Theists, just what if there is no God? We would have to take total care of our planet.

I'm not saying that a belief in God/Gods causes people to not take care of the planet, just less concern.

What is your opinion on this?

First of all, I just want to say I am a Christian. I believe in the one and only God of the bible; However, I believe that if you go to 10 different churches on a specific verse, you will most likely get 10 different interpretations of that verse. Nobody is 100% correct on the interpretation of the bible… NO-ONE!!! That being said:

I just got finished watching “The Lost Tomb Of Jesus” and was wondering:

Why is it so hard to believe that Jesus’ bones were found?
Why is it so hard to believe that Jesus was married to Mary?
Why is it so hard to believe that Jesus had a son?

Is it because people have been brainwashed for MANY years that this just can’t be?

I am not easily fooled and I just may be fooled on this. I am going by a television special right now and nothing else. I am assuming (I know about assuming)… that the special showed facts. Now, IF all the elements in the special are accurate – there is only ONE possible outcome.

I am not defending, but have never disgraced any religion.

By the end of the day, we must recall in our minds that we are civilized, educated, blessed ppl who are independent and have simply no worries of tomorrow. We haven’t seen or suffered the real pains and sufferings of life as yet. Disasters in life are always just a moment away.

Lets argue, discuss, have fun with each other in a respectful and friendly/sarcastic manner.. Rather feeling great about tearing apart each other's egos.

I would like to know your opinion or experiences regarding this.

Thanks

I am curious, if God talks to you is it in the form of words? Can you actually hear him within your mind? Is it an emotional feeling such as through the Holy Ghost?

Thank you =)

How many Americans are ready to accept the proposition
that science has made a colossal error interpreting
the fossil and geological record and - more radical
still - that the validity of Christianity depends on
proving it? If anything, a stance like this repels
those wavering between faith and disbelief and gives
skeptics one more reason to reject religion.

A suggestion to creationists: Let science be science,
and let religion prevail in the vast areas where
science has little or nothing to offer. It's not as
though science has an answer for everything of
consequence. The purpose and meaning of life, the
existence of good and evil and love and hate, the
nature of a human soul and what becomes of it at
death, the existence and will of the divine - these
are questions that belong to ethics, philosophy and,
of course, religion.

No, religion shouldn't be picking this particular
fight with mainstream science. Can't the Bible
literalists concede matters of empirical evidence and
rational inquiry to science and devote themselves to
the questions of ultimate meaning - the mighty
questions that rightly occupy religion? Their religion
doesn't need any scientific proof. Why should their
own faith?

I've always thought God healed instantly. But I'm learning he will sometimes heal you in stages from the inside out. Does anyone know why?

Nothing helped for my Social Anxiety, but since praying I've made great changes. I still have areas to work on, but my improvement has been significant.
