I know in the book of Mathew Jesus is condemned by the Pharisees multipletimes to be disobeying the Sabbath, and every time he owned them and sent them away. He always came up with a reason why he wasnt breaking the Sabbath when people might have thought he was, but he never broke the sabbath!
It is said many times throughout the New Testament to obey the Sabbath. Although the sabbath now days is not kept like it used to be. A few many years ago you could not even buy things, because no restaurants or stores were open. Now days the cool thing to do after church is go eat out. Which i myself am guilty of. I don't believe going out to eat on Sunday is a good thing because you eat at a place that is employing people on Sunday, which is disobeying the Sabbath.

Apologize for running off on a tangent, but bottom line the sabbath is meant to be kept holy! Weather or not you see the majority of Christians and myself doing so most the time.
