From what I understand, there's so little they can do that I wonder if they just sleep all day?

I mean, they can't drive, cook, use the phone, tear toilet paper...

I mean ORTHODOX jews: I'm not really interested in what YOU do ok? :)

What do we do?

Friday night, go to shul, pray, go home, eat supper with the family, spend time with the kids.

Saturday- go to shul in the morning, have something to eat at shul (called the brochah), go home, eat lunch, sing songs, spend time with the kids, play games with kids. Then study a bit of Torah, have an afternoon sleep, spend more time with kids. Then back to shul for the afternoon service (just before the end of the day), have the third meal, sing, finsih off Shabat by reciting havdalah as part of the evening service.

Thats pretty much about it. Not very exciting, but a great family day to spend time together without the distractions of the week day.

some people sleep, I do sometimes.

but their is always good food, and pleasant conversation.

I also study, play boardgames and have time to spend with my family and friends.

in general its a time to unwind from the world around you and relax.
