If I say: "I don't believe that the God of the Koran is the same God as the one of the Bible", does that statement make me your enemy, or can you still respect me as a person even if we disagree?

Well, I disagree with the statement because both Muslims and Christians believe in the same God; but that does not mean that a Muslim can't be a friend of a Christian. It is a Muslim's responsibility to tell others what is right and what is wrong (ie explain Islam)...but then it's completely up to the person if he/she agrees with it or not. I have lot of Christian friends...we talk about both of our religions...and still have no problem in our friendship.

Let us first define the word FRIEND..

So often you're there
when I am lonely,
you always sound glad
when I call.
And it seems every time
that I need you,
you say it's no
trouble at all.

So, I hope that if you
ever need a favor,
I'm someone on whom
you'll depend.
And I hope I can be
all that you've been to me,
for that's the true
meaning of "friend."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Above is the word friend for me. So being a friend i would tell you that the God in the Quran and One in the bible are same. As there is only one God thats what bible says so if i also say being a muslim that there is one God this means we both are worshipping the same God... isnt it?? You call HIM God i call HIM Allah... and whats the problem in calling GOD with different names like ALLAH(muslim word) or PRAMATMA(hindu word) and many other words.

True muslims believe in peace. During Muhammad's (PBUH)
time, there were some non-muslims that were his neighboors.
He said to respect people for who they are, and respect your neighboors even if they are non-muslims. People in todays society watches to much t.v. they believe in what they see on t.v. They don't know that Media is controlled by non-muslims especially JEWS. Look at recent news, you won't find an article or news saying JEWS did this bad things. But more like a muslim suicide bomber kills these many people etc...

People also fail to differentiate between true teachings of Islam and some muslim countries cultures. For example Women with vails- True teaching say that should be used for Class rank, demand respect, and appreciate women. But some muslims cultures degrade women- forcing her to arranged marriage, make them wear xtreme vails that only show eyes, Not forcing to have many rights. not give them any eduaction, or be part of politcs etc..

Today people associate terrorism with Islam or muslim people, but True teachings of Islam has forbidden terrorrism. In fact, ther aren't many strong muslim countries. They are extreme muslims, just like extreme christians. There are no stand agianst those terrorists, beacause most of them are third world countries. Meaning that there voices aren't heard.

Christians and Muslims come way back when to Abraham's time, and it was way after that that the religions split. It's the same God. If your opinion differs, then that's your prerogative. I'm a Christian, but we can agree to disagree :)

No

According to the Quran, "There is no compulsion in religion" (2:256), thus, no one can be forced to become a Muslim.
The original, unchanged revelations given to Abraham and other prophets(like Moses and Jesus ) reaching back to Adam all came from the One True God(The Creator). This common origin explains their similarities in many beliefs and values

However, over time the teachings of the various religions, due to a variety of reasons, have become distorted and mixed with made-man ideas.

The last Prophet and Messenger of God, Muhammad , who is a direct descendant of Abraham through his first born son, Ishmael, was sent with the Last Guidance, Revelation and Testament, the Holy Qur'an(koran) to amend and correct the changes and corruption made to the the "Torah" which was sent to Moses and theTrue Gospel of Jesus. To say the truth ,God preserved all the other Holy Books plainly by preserving His Last Book the Holy Qur'an(koran)which contains the right and the truth of all that was changed in those other Books.

This is why this last Revelation which was sent 1423 years ago has remained unchanged, not even a word or a letter has been altered.

There is not even one word of difference between two Arabic Qur'ans, anywhere in the world. There has been no disagreements in history among Muslims as to what should and should not be in the Qur'an. However, in the case of the Bible, even the most ancient manuscripts conflict with one another so that no two are identical. Footnotes in all modern versions of the Bible prove this fact.

These revisions serve as concrete proofs that all the Biblical books are not at all divinely inspired. This is because it is beyond man's ability to correct the work of his Creator, who alone is Almighty and perfect

It was only natural for Almighty God to preserve the scripture revealed to Prophet Muhammad, because he was the last Prophet and Final Messenger of God.

Islam teaches us that we must pray directly to God without an intermediary and no soul can bear the burden of another and that the nature of humanity is good, and we did not inherit sin from Adam. Each soul comes into being free of sin.in Islam there are no priests or clergy -- each worshipper, man or woman, has a direct relationship with their Merciful Creator -- Almighty God. Since God is the Owner and Sustainer of everything, as well as the only one who can provide true and complete forgiveness, it is completely futile to try to approach Him through anyone else.

The oneness and universality of God's message requires that people accept all the messengers of God. Rejecting one of them amounts to rejecting them all. The Jews reject Jesus's mission and Muhammad's mission; the Christians reject Muhammad's mission; whereas the Muslims accept them all, but reject incorrect historical interpretations and human elements in these missions.

As the Qur'an is the final revelation and Muhammad is the final prophet, humanity is obligated to accept it: "If anyone desires a religion other than Islam, never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost all spiritual good" (3:86).

The Final Prophet Muhammad said: "Whoever believes there is no god but God, alone without partner, that Muhammad is His messenger, that Jesus is messenger of God, and that Paradise and Hell are true, shall be received by God into Heaven."

you can do that now as you are reading these lines is to pronounce the two confirmations and attestations of faith, here it is

I BEAR WITNESS THAT THERE IS NO GOD WORTHY OF WORSHIP EXCEPT ALLAH ( ARABIC WORD MEANS ONE GOD-THE CREATOR). AND I BEAR WITNESS THAT MUHAMMAD IS HIS SERVANT AND MESSENGER. I BEAR WITNESS THAT JESUS IS HIS SERVANT AND MESSENGER.

The right picture of lslam is conveyed in the Qur'an, which is exemplified by Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. The reality is that it is not fair to judge a religion by the actions of its followers alone because there are good and bad followers in every religion. The correct thing to do is to judge a religion by its documented revelation from God and the prophet who brought that revelation.

I encourage Christians and other religions to learn about Islam from Muslim sources and The Basis Of The Muslim Belief and not rely on second hand information which in many cases is distorted or contains a deep seated anti Muslim agenda. This is indeed a more scholarly approach

Pink....

This is what I have found so far from my studies on both. I follow YHWH (G_Ds real name) and this is what others that have studied both indepth have told me.

Bible tells us to READ over n over again.
If you define the Qur'an, it means THE READ.
Re-read Revelation when it talks about a "small scroll".
It mentions how it will be "sour in our stomachs".
Think the Qur'an is sour to Christians?
Starting to see the message from G_D?

Once we understand the bible, as the bible, not what others teach us nor what a building speaks of it. Once we reach that level of understanding, complete understanding, then we will realize the next step, message is the Qur'an.

Do you have to read it, no. Do you want to read it prior to being ready for it? no. Just like the Bible, if you don't believe in it, you don't "get it", be same way with the Qur'an.

And please don't accept what the TV has painted as Muslims and Islam. For they have taken but 1% of them. Remember we have Mormons, JW, etc and don't forget about the bald golden robe walkers. Let alone militias, etc....all religions have a few bad seeds. Media just focuses on Muslims bad seeds for a reason. To make us hate them. Just like in the past we were taught to hate Russia, hate Japan, hate Iran, hate Iraq, hate them, and them too, and them too....sounds like a bunch of scared people when you sit back and look at it all.

When you see Muslims on TV dressed in all white dancing around waving guns, shooting them off. They are doing exactly as the Bible calls them to do....to be clothed in white and to stand at God's side as a soldier. That act they are doing is the same as us standing in church and singing a song or say a black church dancing around and singing. Would you look at that and deem it as hateful?

You would if I filmed it and put some guy on there saying....look at these devil worshipers. they dance around and sing these evil songs trying to bring lucifer to the surface, oh its inhuman, the violance they speak of, its horrible people.

Since you sit there at home, nice n comfy, you take every word as truth, for you are not there, you take it as truthful cause you see the pictures right in front of you (I was just as guilty, then I changed my ways). But that never means you got the right story. Never believe anyone, on anything, always do you own homework and research and never believe one source, triple check it to ensure the answer.

As the Bible says.....there are many set out to deceive you.

No prob. I have lots of friends with different beliefs. Nobody impose their religions on others. Just that some Christian bigots in this R&S put us on our defence when they say nasty things about Islam and our prophets. A good example will be Deep Sky above.
