This is a question that I have been wondering about for quite some time.

Here is the situation...

Suppose you are witnessing to someone about the gospel. The person has NO knowledge of the Bible whatsoever and who has no idea of who Jesus Christ is.

My question is this...What passages of the Bible should you have the person read in order to come to a "saving knowledge of Jesus Christ?" Obviously, a person couldn't be saved by only reading John 11:35, "Jesus wept." And I don't think they could be saved by reading the Book of Numbers or Leviticus, et cetera.

I also think that only reading the verse that says, "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved" would not be enough either. This is especially true if the person has absolutely no concept of who Jesus Christ is!

The Lord does not save anyone apart from the Word of God. So what, specifically(!) should a person read and embrace as truth in order to be saved?

Thanks for your help!

Been wondering this for ages.

During that shooting, there was a girl that was asked by one of the shooters "Do you believe in Jesus", she said, yes, and was killed.

Christians all over the world applauded the girls bravery and steadfastness.

BUT YA KNOW, i always wondered, if she took the right approach. What if she said no, then started flirting with the shooters?

Now i know it woulda been tough, at the barrel of a gun to flirt and crap like that but lets say she said no and weaseled out of it. Would christians think any less of her?

What if YOU were at the barrel of a gun and asked that question? You are pretty sure you will get shot if you say, "Yes I love jesus" OR you might be able to get out of it, if you say "NO" and tell a joke, or flirt or whatever... what do you do?

believe, Jesus is God in the Flesh that came as the Son of God and was crucified, dead and buried for the atonement of sins, and on the 3rd day He arose, then He ascended into Heaven, and is now sitting on the right hand of the Father, later to return for the rapture of the Church.

If everyone believes the above but goes off a bit in the interpretations such as women should not wear pants, cut their hair, or wear jewely and makeup, must be baptized in water and not sprinkled, observe footwashing, Sabbath should be on Saturday not Sunday etc. would you be able to accept if the basic beliefs listed above are the same? if so, why and why not.

conduct such services!

My grandmother is Catholic. The Chaplain approached my grandmother and said would you like services or some readings. My grandmother said - I have all the dirty magazines right here that I like - and held up the Star and Enquirer.

My grandmother further pursued the issue and asked if the woman was looking for money.

The chaplain said no, the hospital actually pays me quite a bit and I am Protestant.

I am confused about this. I didn't really know what a chaplain is http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/chaplains and I find it strange that they are paid and they offer services to other religions.

Is this correct? Is it just a job, or is there supposed to be spiritual meaning behind it?

Why do so many monotheists consider God to be perfect?

This is a serious question

I haven't come across a great deal of evidence for this anywhere. Even the Bible seems to contain a great deal of evidence to the contrary; and of course there are the famous logical problems (if God can do anything, can he create something so big he can't lift it? etc)

Why not a God who's pretty impressive, and far surpasses anything a human being could ever be, but who's not necessarily perfect?

Is it merely because that would entail that another being could exist who was even greater?

If one can be born straight, why can't they be born non-heterosexual?

If scientist discovered that some people were non-heterosexual because of genetic reasons, would this cause some Christians to stop condemning non-heterosexuals, or would they try to refute this discovery? Just a random, dumb thought.

We can always find excuses for neglecting God. But by choosing to put God first, we grow spiritually; the result is a closer walk with God.

No one says you can't disagree with Christians, your entitled... but many of you get demeaning and sarcastic. Again, I suppose you can use the forum for whatever purpose you want, but if you want to be taken seriously then make an argument without the sarcasm... and I will be one Christian who will attempt not to throw it back at you either.

is not a good reason against the idea of god because if we accept that question then we have to accept its opposite, why good things that happen cannot be god´s work???
If we cannot understand why god allows bad things to happen then we will have to accept that he sends the good ones???

I would like to think all the "true" stories of possession by the devil are just mental illness or drug abuse effects. It's true most of the real life accounts are from many years ago before doctors knew about the brain and mental illness. Some do believe in this however, do you??????

It is projected in TV Evangelism on the Screen as one with two horns, fleshy in the middle, black and with an earth-touching tail. Since the total figure is cast in silhouette, one cannot identify the gender even with an eagerly and searching look all over it. No offence is meant. Sincerely speaking I am confused. What do they do? Who has deputed it to do all the evils and only the evils? Why no power can prevent it from doing nasty things? How they are neutralized by faith healers? Could some one explain its features and functions? lileeann33

Are Wicca and Satanism one and the same thing? Wiccans are often lumped into the same category as Satanists when in reality the two belief systems share very little in common. In fact, Wicca and Satanism are completely different belief systems and can actually be considered the complete opposite of each other.

It is true that the terms “Satanism”, “Paganism” and “Witchcraft” can have many different interpretations. However the term “Wicca” has only one accepted definition amongst its practitioners. Wicca and Satanism could never be one and the same since a Wicca does not recognize the existence of Satan. However the word Satanism does apply to a range of religious traditions.

While many still view Wicca and Satanism as the same thing, Satanism in a distinct religion. The Church of Satan is the largest organized group of Satanists. To these groups Satan is a pre-Christian symbol of pleasure, virility, and strength; not a living entity. They use the Sigil of Baphomet as their pri

Please be truthful, I'm seeing a lot of dialogue from people mentioning Heaven and what God tells them to do, but what if you knew in your heart of hearts that there was no God? (Just for the sake of this question, I'm not trying to change anyone's beliefs). What would you do differently? How would you live your lives going forward?
