Okay. I think many people here aren't understanding your question and a few have.
Everyone is born into what is called Original Sin. Original Sin entered into humankind with the sin of Adam eating of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge. Though Eve ate it first, recall...nothing happens until Adam did, it was at this time that the Original Sin occurred. As a result all of us have this.
To remove Original Sin from the baby is to baptize them with water. Either sprinkling, or pouring water, as immersion is simply not safe for babies, though technically it can be done.
This is not the same as personal sin. Babies are not guilty of personal sin in any way, shape or form.
Hope this helps!

Ummmm........under most belief systems baby's are thought to be born with a clean slate (tabula rasa) - that means no sins imposed on them. This is because a newborn is the purest of beings - it hasn't been influenced by the outside world, it purely survives (for the first 6-8 weeks) on instinct.

Original sin has been around much longer than the Protestant Church. It is half of the deal God brokered with Adam when he "warned" him not to partake of the fruit of the Tree of knowledge of good and evil.
Without the knowledge of good and evil humans would be senseless automatons that might destroy or love with no parameters and be without sin. Babies are born with an inherent ability to eventually know the of good and evil and so they have taken part in the original sin of Adam and Eve.
Those that denigrate another sect of Christianity because of this are denigrating all of Christianity and its usages of known good and evil.
If you want the truth, ask a Pagan.

Babies are born with a clean slate, they are innocent and sin free. The sin of the parent does not reflect on the newborn. Years ago, if a child was born out of wedlock the child would then be a bastard child. That was not a religious classification , it was social.

St Augustine is a saint because of the fact, after he switched over, he led a holy existence, and spent it in reparation for his sins. not each and each ingredient that he ever wrote is regular as Catholic coaching. This situation is one in each of them. Saint Augustine replaced into probable concerning what we'd term self-centredness. toddlers are born self-centred, and there is not something that we can do to alter this. As we advance, we'd desire to grow to be extra others-centred, and, maximum quite, extra God-centred. The Catholic Church does not instruct that toddlers are born with wilful, own sin. The Church teaches that each and each baby is born with A. an inclination in the direction of sin, B. with unique sin (ie loss of supernatural grace), and as a result, C. an unfittedness for the honour of Heaven. this does not propose that the youngster has dedicated any sin, and nor does it mean that the baby has the skill to commit a sin, the two then, or interior the 1st few years after delivery. It potential that each and each baby is born without the supernatural grace required to stay with God in Heaven. Supernatural grace is a few thing above us, yet not owed to us. that isn't the fault of the youngster that he/she has no supernatural grace, yet nor can the youngster (or all people else) get carry of this grace without Baptism). Jesus mentioned, "till a guy (ie individual) be born back of water and the Holy Spirit he won't be able to enter the dominion of God." He additionally commanded His Apostles to flow out into the international and Baptise. The Catholic Church does not presume to contradict Our Lord's words, yet additionally recognizes that God's Mercy, Love and Justice mean that God might finally shop an harmless baby from any undeserved punishment. How God does this has not been defined. Limbo, replaced into one suggestion, yet there is no expert dogma on Limbo. The Catholic Church does not formally instruct, and not in any respect has formally taught, that a infant who dies without Baptism will flow to hell. because of the fact we don't comprehend precisely what occurs to this type of baby, that is pronounced to oldsters that they've their toddlers Baptised as quickly as conceivable after delivery (ie interior the 1st few weeks).

Human beings are born in a natural state of sin and imperfection. That's human nature. Babies are not guilty of any imposed sin. As they grow up and begin to make sinful choices (which happens to us all because of our inherent sin nature) they will be accountable for their own sins; not someone else's.

Newborn babies are guilty of nothing. It is our society that makes such a distinction. Otherwise, every baby is just an angel born in this world.

Depends on who you ask....Jews don't believe that...They believe people are born good....My understanding of the Christian belief is that babies are not bad, but born with human nature (which is ultimately looking after one's self before thinking of others). So...the babies are not bad..they just have the ability to become that way. Catholics believe that baptism washes away this sin. Other denominations have beliefs of original sin (i.e. human nature), but that babies are not "bad."

Infants are not guilty of sin and are not accountable for their sin, because they cannot understand the difference between right and wrong.
