Been wondering this for ages.
During that shooting, there was a girl that was asked by one of the shooters "Do you believe in Jesus", she said, yes, and was killed.
Christians all over the world applauded the girls bravery and steadfastness.
BUT YA KNOW, i always wondered, if she took the right approach. What if she said no, then started flirting with the shooters?
Now i know it woulda been tough, at the barrel of a gun to flirt and crap like that but lets say she said no and weaseled out of it. Would christians think any less of her?
What if YOU were at the barrel of a gun and asked that question? You are pretty sure you will get shot if you say, "Yes I love jesus" OR you might be able to get out of it, if you say "NO" and tell a joke, or flirt or whatever... what do you do?

For all of you saying.. you should never disavow your god..
I would ask.. dont you have a obligation to protect the divine spark of life that god granted you?
If she had said.. no i dont love god.. but just said it to try to stay alive.. and in actuallity DID love god.. you dont think god would hold that against her if she still got shot do you?

I'm not sure what I would have done. I hope that I will never have to face a situation like that.

Many people will be put in that same situation during the 7 year tribulation. The bible says that those who hold steadfast to their belief and do not dis-own Jesus will be saved. That girl made a choice, go directly to heaven and be with her Savior, or lie and still live on this earth. When Jesus is inside you, the answer is very simple. It is like asking someone if they want $100.00 or 100 million dollars. A true Born Again Believer will take the 100 million dollars anyday.
I am speaking metaphorically.
That girl is in the presence of God Almighty at this very moment and nothing this world has to offer could persuade her to return here.
Praise The Holy Lamb Of God !!!

The girl's faith was completely irrelevant to the situation. Those two kids were psychotic, had planned for months to do what they did, and by the time it was all underway there was nothing anyone could do to stop what was happening.
She could have said "No" and would have been shot anyway. She could have sprouted a bucket of fried chicken out her cornhole and burst into flames, and STILL would have been shot. Get the point? Faith had no bearing on the intentions of Klebold & Harris, only going out by raising hell. It was a lose-lose situation for anyone at the school.
Reverse the situation and consider the thousands of women killed as witches by Christians. Let's tie a woman's hands and feet to a chair, then submerge the chair. If she lives, she obviously has special powers and is a witch, and is then burned alive. If she dies, then she was innocent and gets to be with God anyway. Also a lose-lose situation IMO.

No, I would not have thought any less of her. No, I can not say for certain of what I would do. I hope I would be as strong as her. I would be ashamed to deny my Lord, but I know He would forgive me.
Personally, I don't think there was a better answer to the question the shooter proposed. If she denied Christ or acted in a way that was inappropriate to her beliefs, she would still have been shot.

Yes she could have, and that would have been the easy road, but the road that Jesus asks us to use is the one that is hard and narrow. She has received a crown in heaven, whereas if she took the easy road she may have not even go to heaven. The Lord said whoever denies Him shall be denied by His Father in heaven. She obviously didn't want to take a chance and deny Christ. She figured life in heaven was worth a lot more than flirting with shooters. Rachel Scott is commended for standing up for her faith in Christ. She is a modern day martyr.

I have thought about it and Rachel did take the right approach. She's with Jesus now....Jesus said if we acknowledge Him before the Father He will acknowledge us. She didn't deny her Lord.
If I was at the end of the barrel of a gun and was asked that I'd say a quick prayer for strength and say Yes I love Jesus. I was in a play once where I had to play a martyr that was about to be fed to the lions, so for the character I had to think about it. It would be difficult but Jesus gives you the strength when you need it as well as His peace.

I would say yes, and if they shot me, then it would be my time to go. Another reason I try to have everything in order with my life. I don't care what other people say, though, so that doesn't really matter. How do people know that conversation, if the girl and the murderers are dead?

I would never deny Jesus as I don't want him to ever deny me, she did the right thing and is in heaven with the Lord Jesus.
Daniel B should be ashamed for trying to blame the victims for what these obviously sick twisted godless killers did.

I think those kids would've shot her no matter what.
Obviously, that isn't something they went around asking everyone they murdered. It probably sounded like something "evil" for this twisted kid to ask.
I guess I'm saying that I don't think that poor girl could have done anything different and had a different outcome.
