Are they trying to tell me anything?

2007-03-19 07:15:42 · 7 answers · asked by Anonymous

I have seen alot of posts on here, asking if the world is really going to end in 2012. What if it is? How would you live differently? Would you be angry, depressed, hopeful, joyful?
Would you take care of the world, or say what the heck, we're out of here soon anyway, and start littering? Would you pull your loved ones closer, or decide there is no point in being in a relationship knowing the whole thing will be over in 5 years?
How would this change if you thought there would be no afterlife, VS if you thought there would be an afterlife? Would you see it as a motivation to treat your fellow man better "just in case"?

I'm hoping that some Deits have some intelligent theories on this one... but all ideas are, of course, welcome.

Praise be to Allah.

This question for new Muslim brothers and sisters.
Is there anything we could help you with, something needed to be calrified, discussing a problem or whatever?

Don't get shy this is your right and it's our DUTY to help you as much as we can.

I think most of R & S guys has a relative high IQ so I'd be grateful if ONLY new muslims answer this question.

Why did God all of a sudden not show up in a burning bush or on a mountain? Why was it only back in the beginnings of time?

...Christian homes, there is seldom anything at all?

I find it a matter of great curiosity, for want of a better way of putting it.

There are available wonderful art prints that would grace a Christian home, especially Italian paintings, Italy being a bastion of Christianity.

One of my favourite painters is Fra Angelico.
His series of musical angels is absolutely beautiful and make a lovely set together on
a wall -- or even one is lovely. One is of an
angel with a trumpet, another with a drum, a third with a violin; there are more of them...
(they would make a great present!)

Also (Fra Angelico, still)
The Annunciation, circa 1430-32
Detail of Heaven; The Last Judgment
....both simply beautiful

I should think that one might at least hang some lovely prints in the front hallway, and put a vase of flowers and a pretty lamp. One needs to grace one's home in some way, isn't it so?
Art lends a lovely aura all its own.

OH S***! This is scientific fact. Do you think God allows for this because he knows this will happen and will give us a gimmie?

Do people need to attend "death" class to learn to avoid saying it?

I can't believe any person who dedicated his/her whole life to serving God, unbelievably, off the charts and then slips up at the end because he or she is scared or caught up in the moment and all that is wiped out...
and then God said, "No!! To hell with you..."
I find this hard to believe.

What are your thoughts on these two words and this situation?

I am not interested in what the pope said,I want to know what God has said.
I am not interested in what the church has said,I want to know what the Bible said.

If you can'y provide scripture please don't waste your time or mine answering.I am not interested in the doctrines of men and devils, but only the truth which is found in the word of God.

most people probably dont worship zuess, appollo, odin, zoroaster, marduk, etc, etc, anymore right? all these gods of yore ( over 2500 recorded throughout history) have been relegated to the dustbin of history for one very good reason or another and all of you who believe in some present form of a deity are in essence atheistic toward these past gods...those of us who currently ascribe to modern atheism simply take this one god further...

i recently gave my friend in Egypt, who is also of Muslim faith a gift...before this i had a hard time convincing him that i "must" give this to him as a token of our "BEST" friendship between one another. He said to me he has a hard time accepting gifts. When i asked him why he would only say because he could not give me something in return. Since getting it he has acted very strangely. The place he recieved he gift was his hometown address. Now he is at a new town where he is working. He will NOT give me that address to where he is staying and i think ,(know), it is out of fear i will send him "items",(gifts in his mind), and he seeminly does not like this idea. Plz is there something in the Muslim religion that prohibits the act of "gift giving"? thx

...in a Christian home there is usually nothing at all.

The reason I ask is that there is a great deal of
beautiful art, especially Italian paintings, which
would grace a Christian home, especially since
Italy is a great bastion of Christianity. I simply can't imagine being able to resist purchasing fine
art prints and hanging them up .... at least in the front hallway where they would look beautiful with a vase of fresh flowers or some plants and a lovely lamp.

I just looked online and found some fine art prints. Here are some of the titles of the paintings which would look grace the atmosphere:

Fra Angelico (1395-1455)
****************************
(musical angel series, some of)
Angel with a violin
Angel playing a trumpet
Angel holding a trumpet
(at least 1 more is available:
Angel with a drum)
*****************************
The Annunciation; circa 1430-32
Detail of Heaven: The Last Judgment

Not one is the least bit upsetting or
tragic.

Peace

Isn't every child born free of religious belief? Isn't the "Christian child" just a child on whom the parents have imposed their beliefs? In Judaism, how many babies have chosen to be circumcised? Isn't every child born an atheist, then subjected to training to teach them to think in terms of "them and us"? Is this child abuse?
