and why do they still follow people like this?
During the late 1970's, Jones had been abusing prescription drugs and appears to have become increasingly paranoid. Rumors of human rights abuses circulated. As in most high-intensity religious groups, there was a considerable flow of people joining and leaving the group. Tim Stoen, the Temple attorney and right-hand man to Jones left to form Concerned Relatives who claimed that Jonestown was being run like a concentration camp, and that people were being held there against their will. This motivated Leo Ryan, a Congressman, to visit Jonestown in 1978-NOV for a personal inspection. At first, the visit went well. Later, on NOV-18, about 16 Temple members decided that they wanted to leave Jonestown with the visitors. This came as quite a blow to both Jones and the rest of the project. While Ryan and the others were waiting at Port Kiatuma airfield, the local airstrip, some heavily armed members of the Temple's security guards - google it!

I ask genuine questions sometimes, but other times I just want to have fun. Last time Yahoo removed my email address, where I had all my school work and so much more..Losing all that vital information made me so upset, please don't do it again...Oh so that you don't ask me to post my questions somehwhere else, here: Is allah a woman or a man? I post my question here because this is where I get reported...

i hear a lot of things about america being a christian nation and how some of the founding fathers where christians too but yet us non christians in america know its not a christian nation and if it was christians would have the only legal right to do what they want and i even bet we would not see any non christians around anymore either if it was.

i think most christians are misinformed a lot but i also think they have to be lying. like this guy i saw answer a question about bush being a atheist. he said that no atheist can have a office in politics in texas i think that is a lie but he could also be misinformed as well.

or like the christian who claims that his religion is the worlds largest religion but yet paganism as a word is a umbrella term meaning not of the jewish christian and muslim belief so that would make up about 4 billion to 5 billion people world wide today.

According to the Bible, those who oppose it are lost. The are walking in darkness. Some believe that "darkness" suggest black people, which is vey funny, but ignorant. As an African American Christian, I laugh. I am made the light in Christ.

How do we enlighten nonbelievers? Show God to them through yourselves. Live the life according to the Bible. Be a blessing. Be all that the Bible commands you to be. By doing this, we are helping. And God commands us in the Bible to do this!!

I believe in God but I don't down someone who may not believe like I do or down non believers. Some "Christians" really turn away a lot of people with how they act. No wonder people don't trust organized religion along with all the scandals too. Yes, it is ok to question God in my beliefs. Maybe not yours, but mine it is. I'm also sick of the hell fire and brimstone crowd too. Scaring a person into believing is not the way to do it.
