Is it not then truth at all? Does believing something to be true justify stating said belief as Truth or Fact? Should a phrase like " I believe " or " I have faith that " always be included when speaking or writing about said personal truth?

Can something be TRUE for one person and not another?

Thank you for reading the Bible to me. The next time I am In Church I will ask my priest about it.

This was my answer to a recent, very recent question. I received a violation notice and my answer was deleted. Can anyone tell me why? Do people realize that they are getting people's accounts deleted for their own selfish reasons and that it interferes with people's lives? Why do so many people behave so poorly? Could anybody tell me how I oofended someone? anyone is free to check my profile and tell me if I am abusing anyone.

My weaker but prettier half Nermina and I have a wonderful daughter named Mirela, who at the tender age of 8 is already making her mark on this world. Her five year old brother is almost useless, but that's another story for another time.

My fear is, a lot of her peers don't seem to understand what a good woman is put on this earth to do. For instance, her friend Zehra recently was invited to have supper with us. She told us while eating, “I want to be a race car driver someday!” After letting her finish her meal, I took her home early and told Mirela this wasn’t what God would have intended. If she is interested in that kind of endeavor, there are plenty of good Christian men who race cars that would marry her.

This is why we are thinking of home schooling her next year. Can you imagine some of the influences she'll get when she starts junior high school? Goodness, she'll be tattooed and pregnant by 14.

I believe it is important for her to learn early what her natural God given tendencies truly are. As I quote from Exodus almost nightly at our supper table;

"Their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods." Exodus 34:16

My daughter partakes in nightly scripture studies with some of the older kids at our church. It's usually only about 4 nights a week, but she is already starting to get some of the basics down.

Do you have some advice on how to continue my daughter on a path that Jesus would be proud of? She only has 9-10 years to get ready, and I’m already nervous!

Blessings,

Kermit

But Seriously, Since the bible prophecised about Godzilla, does that make it the word of God?

Gen 4:22 And Zillah, she also bare Tubal-cain, the forger of every cutting instrument of brass and iron: and the sister of Tubal-cain was Naamah.

To point to imperfect human beings and say, "See, Christianity can't be true because these so-called 'Christians' aren't perfect!"?

Just as much as it is to point to them and say, "Well...they weren't really 'one of us' if they did *that*."?

Yes yes, I know about "free will", but he knew some of us, would choose to use our will wrongly, thus leading to hell. That, in my opionon seems very mean!

The original bible should have been the only bible allowed by law! With all of these different versions of the bible, it makes it hard for anyone to believe any of it.

If I can write a book, then smo joe could take my book and "translate" it into his own terms, etc...., 1,000 years from now, who's book do you believe to be true??

I believe there is a god, but I'm getting more and more away from religion. Everything just seems so corrupt!

I've just seen this dumb statement "Atheism to me is like Laziness to really think. Call it ignorance of God or the willingful desire to ignore something that is so clear and hugely in front of us."

So who is more lazy? The atheist or the theist?

As a Christian.....I am totally against it. It's just another way to exploit a human embryo. We cannot and should not try to play God.

Your thoughts?

...to say that anyone who is accused of X "wasnt a real Christian"?

I hear this all the time. Everytime a discussion of prison statistics arises, invariably, some Christians states that those people werent "real Christians" or they would never have gotten into trouble in the first place.

Come on now people - isnt that a huge cop out? I suppose Ted Haggard isnt a "real Christian"? He just runs a Church, right? I just dont get it - if we are all born sinners, then what exactly is a "real Christian"?

Or, are "real Christians" just like the Christian God - non-existent?

I was raised Catholic and I consider myself a spiritualist. Over the years, I have always retained faith in God, but could never understand some of these religions that claim only certain people can be saved or how God sees certain people (gypies, gays, etc...) as abominations. I mean honestly, how can an all-loving, merciful God ever see any of his childen that way? Anybody here tired of the religious right trying to be God & telling people who he loves and who he doesn't? Wouldn't that be an abomination in itself to make God look bad by making him into something hateful & vengeful when an all-loving creator made each and every one of us different? Why can't people just teach love without the hate?
