My weaker but prettier half Nermina and I have a wonderful daughter named Mirela, who at the tender age of 8 is already making her mark on this world. Her five year old brother is almost useless, but that's another story for another time.
My fear is, a lot of her peers don't seem to understand what a good woman is put on this earth to do. For instance, her friend Zehra recently was invited to have supper with us. She told us while eating, “I want to be a race car driver someday!” After letting her finish her meal, I took her home early and told Mirela this wasn’t what God would have intended. If she is interested in that kind of endeavor, there are plenty of good Christian men who race cars that would marry her.
This is why we are thinking of home schooling her next year. Can you imagine some of the influences she'll get when she starts junior high school? Goodness, she'll be tattooed and pregnant by 14.
I believe it is important for her to learn early what her natural God given tendencies truly are. As I quote from Exodus almost nightly at our supper table;
"Their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods." Exodus 34:16
My daughter partakes in nightly scripture studies with some of the older kids at our church. It's usually only about 4 nights a week, but she is already starting to get some of the basics down.
Do you have some advice on how to continue my daughter on a path that Jesus would be proud of? She only has 9-10 years to get ready, and I’m already nervous!
Blessings,
Kermit
