Yes. Religions are a distraction to a true relationship with God.

Well religion itself is really just rules of engagement, what you're supposed to do with your faith and why you believe what you believe. So I think you can have religion in your life all day long, but it doesn't mean you have faith, believe, what you are being taught; which is the reason so many people convert to different religions. However I don't believe you can have faith without having some sort of religion, even if it's your own home spun kind whereas you just believe in the "Universe". To have faith all you have to do is believe in something, your 'religion' tells you what.

A "Religion" is the man-made way of following denominational doctrines. In this example, 'faith' is blindly following whatever the "church leaders or elders tell you is in the Bible"

A "Relationship" is the way that a 'father and child' build a bond with each other; through trust and friendship. In this example, 'faith' is knowing exactly what Yahweh (your Heavenly Father) expects of you. Because, you read His Word everyday, speak (pray) to Him everyday, worship / praise Him in all circumstances!

I think the faith in and of itself is a negative. It encourages irrationality in my opinion. The religions are just a power structure. So without religion, the power structure is gone, but the root cause of problems is still there.

No, but I appreciate the fact that faith is not depend ant on religion. Hey, as long as you believe and follow your convictions great. Unless you're a muslim and like to strap explosive devices to little children and blow the up in a crowded market.

Faith is BEST without impure religions: Law Law.
Whatsoever is "not of faith" is sin: Romans 14:23
The law is "not of faith": Galatians 3:12
What then of Mt 22 & Rom 8 Law Law?
You do the math, connect the dots,
to 'learn" what Mt 9:13 "meaneth".

NOW FAITH is the EVIDENCE: Hebrews 11:1.
EVIDENCE tell us what's "EVIDENT": Gal 3:11.

So then what's EVIDENT in Hebrews 11?
And notably from the EVIDENCE provided?
These all DIED & received NOT the promise.
What does Heb 10:36 say about "receive the promise"?
You do the see-king and then perhaps you'll "find grace".

What's EVIDENT in Galatians 3?
What does Paul say EVIDENT from EVIDENCE?
No man is justified by the law in the sight of God.

Where are FOOLISH fallen from, and to, in Galatians?
Bewitched "churches" are fallen: from grace, to law.
Why? Because they try & fail to be justified by law.
Now isn't this silly, if told it's evident no man can be.

What saith the Spirit x 7 in Rev? Isn't it "unto the churches";
And what if Galatians only book written "unto the churches".

Take a Hint from the Oneliner in Legally Blonde II:
Perhaps you're miss-taken if you think law is right.
Perhaps what is right of left/right law/grace is grace.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Do you think faith would NOT be hijacked by religion sooner or later? Such a powerful force?

2007-03-19 09:31:55 · answer #7 · answered by Anonymous · 0 1

Indeed.

True faith in God and his son Jesus Christ is not a religion. As I have been saying today, religion is man striving to be like god.
