Does ANYONE read the Bible...or even the Quran? YES, it is a sin. If that is ok, killing you for annoying me is no different. (not that you did....just an example) In God's eyes (and coincidentally, Allah's, as well) there is no difference in a human and any other of God's creatures. Besides, spiders don't lie, cheat or steal. If you are bending words to justify yourself, then you really should know it is wrong. How lazy is someone who cannot just pick up a spider with a piece of paper and put it outside? Live and let live.

Only you can decide for yourself.

Hindus actually have some classifications of minor sins that include stepping on bugs on accident, and even scratching oneself -- because in doing so you are killing small creatures that live on the skin. Mites, or bacteria, or whatever. (Don't ask me how they had a concept of bacteria thousands of years ago when Hinduism was created... Been wondering that myself.)

Anyway if killing bugs makes you feel guilty, then don't do it. Personally I don't kill spiders, except black widows when they are present in my garage, patio, or house, because I have a young son who could become seriously ill or maybe even die if he was bitten... So leaving that possibility open is the greater sin to me. Killing the black widow is still wrong but "the lesser of two evils" in my mind so I do it. Other spiders I do not kill.

I kill mosquitos, because they want to suck my blood and give me itchy bumps. Wrong to kill them, perhaps, but I will take the consequences of the kill over the itchy bumps any day.

I kill cockroaches, on the rare occasion when I encounter one, simply because they are disgusting. That I know is totally a sin, but I can't help it. I just gotta kill 'em. Can't stand them.

And fleas, I kill them because they cause discomfort to my pets whom I love dearly.

Pretty much, all other bugs, I treat with respect because on some level they are sentient beings with consciousness, however limited, and they all have a right to live. As long as they don't want to suck my blood.

OK now after writing this I am going to feel so guilty I might just stop killing cockroaches.... Hmmmm.....

Anyway the main point is, you have to decide for yourself what you can live with, because when it comes to the smaller "gray areas" of human behavior, everyone has their own personal definition of what God thinks is a sin. So if you can't look yourself in the mirror and know you are living the best life possible as a good person, then stop whatever behavior is troubling you. Make sense?

I don't care if it is a sin I hate spiders so when I see one in my house I kill it.

No! If we didn't kill them they'd over populate the earth. Is it a sin for animals to kill bugs-- Or to accidentally step on an ant? What about exterminators? they're just doing their job- They'd spend alot of years in purgatory if it was a sin.

If you have a reason for it, then no I'd say. If you just see it running along the street and you just squash it, that would sort of be a sin. If bugs actually have a life.

I've known a lot of Catholics, and they all killed bugs. Buddhists, and I believe Hindus do not--though they've been known to keep cats--who eat rodents and insects.

It is not a sin if they are going to cause you troubles and you kill them to protect yourself. But before you kill, think of any other merciful ways to protect yourself.

Since spiders and other insects don't feel bad about biting YOU and have no conscience AT ALL about giving you the poison or disease they are carrying around, Ithink that if they invade your house or anywhere else you may feel threatened by them. it's perfectly fine to kill them!

Never really put much thought to it. Like yourself if they are outside my home fine when they come inside they are nothing more than targets, can't stand uninvited guests no matter who/what they are!
