My weaker but prettier half Nermina and I have a wonderful daughter named Mirela, who at the tender age of 8 is already making her mark on this world. Her five year old brother is almost useless, but that's another story for another time.
My fear is, a lot of her peers don't seem to understand what a good woman is put on this earth to do. For instance, her friend Zehra recently was invited to have supper with us. She told us while eating, “I want to be a race car driver someday!” After letting her finish her meal, I took her home early and told Mirela this wasn’t what God would have intended. If she is interested in that kind of endeavor, there are plenty of good Christian men who race cars that would marry her.
This is why we are thinking of home schooling her next year. Can you imagine some of the influences she'll get when she starts junior high school? Goodness, she'll be tattooed and pregnant by 14.
I believe it is important for her to learn early what her natural God given tendencies truly are. As I quote from Exodus almost nightly at our supper table;
"Their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods." Exodus 34:16
My daughter partakes in nightly scripture studies with some of the older kids at our church. It's usually only about 4 nights a week, but she is already starting to get some of the basics down.
Do you have some advice on how to continue my daughter on a path that Jesus would be proud of? She only has 9-10 years to get ready, and I’m already nervous!
Blessings,
Kermit

Why don't you just have a pre arranged marriage for her and then you can pick out the man that you feel is good enough for your little girl.

I find this whole story quite pathetic. Your daughter should be encouraged to learn as much as she can about anything that interests her; there is a lot of world outside other than marriage, and one should be prepared to deal with it. Eight is much too young an age to be even thinking about marriage, which in any event will be her business, not yours. And, if you can show that god exists, let alone has any opinions about anything, fame and fortune will be yours: nobody has ever done so.

women should not compete with men - we should complete them.
marriage is a team - not two individuals who come together and do their own thing, but they work together to fulfill the Will of God.
eve was created to be a help meet for adam - she was created out of his rib ... so one could say that she was his "prime rib" :D
- she was not created out of a bone in the head, so that she would dominate over the male nor was she created out of the foot so that men could have the right to walk all over her - but she was created out of the side, so that they would work side by side as a team.
women are to be their husbands glory - why else would the phrase, "she's with 'him'??" be so fitting for so many relationships ?? so women are not just the weaker vessel, but we have a place and a purpose.
but she's only 8 - let her be a little girl ... that's my advice as a Christian. let her be her age. God will bring someone in that is a perfect fit for her in HIS timing.
- sometimes you just have to take your hands off, and let God be God.
ps - i dont know if you just worded this question wrong, but its things like this that give Christians a bad rap - women can be anything that they want to be, as long as it lines up with the call of God over their life.

Continue to drill the basics, and she will turn out for the best. Only 9-10 years? You have plenty of time.

Oh my god... A race car drive? She is surely on her way to hell.
I'm sorry, where in the bible does it say women can't drive cars? How do you go from racing cars, to being a tattooed crack whore? Let go of the leash a little bit and let your daughter be who she is. You have to TRUST your daughter, but trusting women doesn't seem to be your strong point. Truth is, I pity your daughter for having parents like you...

Well, Jean-Jacques Rousseau and a friend purchased a young girl from a poor woman...they then raised her/educated her and she was trained to be their maid and prostitute. This example could assist your decision. Otherwise I would definately consider an interment/religious camp...they could really help you to guide her down the "shining path" ala peru.

Well, I am prepared to offer a dowry for her now, and am willing to complete her upbringing in the meantime... I promise that I will only "thigh" her much like Mohhamed did with his young wife, at least until your daughter/my wife is old enough to engage in the miracle of procreation.
Deal?

People on here can be so mean.
I would start by having her bring you the paper and drinks.Stuff like that. Then work her up to cooking.
Some day she will be the boss of her house when her husband isn't there and she needs to know that.
Keep up the good work and good luck.

what you said about zehra was sexist, predjudiced and snobby. she is not your daughter and you had no right to say that.
you should be ashamed of yourself
you are basically bringning your daughter up to be a mans slave
