Thank you for reading the Bible to me. The next time I am In Church I will ask my priest about it.
This was my answer to a recent, very recent question. I received a violation notice and my answer was deleted. Can anyone tell me why? Do people realize that they are getting people's accounts deleted for their own selfish reasons and that it interferes with people's lives? Why do so many people behave so poorly? Could anybody tell me how I oofended someone? anyone is free to check my profile and tell me if I am abusing anyone.

Yahoo deletes whole accounts , not just answers usage. That is how it intereferes with lives. People are losing e-mail accounts. A Muslim woman told me she lost vital e-mails from herr mother. Another man told me he lost his yahoo acount and it messed with his business.

Dear David, there is nothing wrong with your answer, it's like that on Yahoo answers, I know your questions and answers and I know how peaceful you are and how y ou respect people and would love to see people respect each other, and you say the truth, that's why some people Will not like you, some of the people here on yahoo they ask to offence the others not to learn, and they would not like to hear what they don't like. like the other day that kaffir guy he is insulting and calling Muslims pigs and so many things and when you answer him , he answer my other question with (because you suck) he just wants to hurt people so he might be one of so many. they have the right to be offencive and hurt people but no one can answer them back , a simple respect answer will not do either...and that is the disadvantage of yahoo answer that people can pretend to be someone under false identity and the will never be caught even if you flag them they still come back with a new account ..this has to be limited here I don't know how but flagging people doesn't help...good luck and keep your good work and kind personality...hope you all the best.

Let's set the Yahoo management off on one side for the moment.
This medium makes it difficult for users to detect the emotional context/content of a post. Back in the old usenet days, the smilies and emoticons were developed to try to "lighten" thing up. Dunno how well that works. Give them a try an see what happens. Personally, I try hard not to easily give offense, and I try hard not to easily take offense.
If I am going to flame, I am meticulous about giving a warning about that. I do not troll. I have read and pay attention to "How to ask a question the smart way." I recognize that "google is your friend." Many questions can be answered directly with a google search. I generally ignore wikipedia, though it does have its uses.
So, someone might be offended because you have a history of flaming without warning (I certainly don't know about that), or you spend time trolling the group (I don't know about that, either), or you might not have couched your words in ways that do not invite flaming or trolling.
Another way of avoiding these issues is to develop a group to which you respond and avoid attending to the questions outside that group. You then can enlarge the questioners you are willing to address.
Personally, I ignore flamers and trolls, and those who would really not ask a question, but rather tell you something. Such as these aren't really interested in the conversation. It is unfortunate that the signal-to-noise ratio gets so small, but for the moment, that is the way it is.

I am guessing it is not so much offensive as not providing any answer to the question posed. That is the more likely reason for the violation. If you had no genuine response to the question, Y!A would say you shouldn't respond at all.
The guidelines are not just about abuse. This question you are asking now itself has nothing to do with religion, so it should be posted in the section about Yahoo Answers. If someone wanted to they could report it and it would most likely be removed simply because it is in the wrong category.

Nope. I see nothing offensive about that answer, nothing. Some of these people get so overly excited - if they don't like your answer - they will report you. Isn't that what this site is about? Answering questions. As long as you're not using foul language, you should be able to voice what ever opinion you have. Sorry this keeps happening to you - if yahoo took the time to actually read the comments, I'm sure that they would see that tons of people get reported simply because they didn't give the answer that someone else was looking for.

I'm sorry to hear about this. I've never read anything that you've asked and/or answered that was offensive. It happened to me a few weeks ago (twice in one day within a half hour of each) but hasn't happened since. I think that if people are reporting to get accounts deleted then that really is wrong.

Welcome to the way of things in R&S. When someone decides they don't like you personally (as if they really know you based on answers you give) or they don't like your response to something, you get reported. I don't believe anyone actually reviews answers at Y/A, it's simply an automatic deletion.
Don't take it personally.. I've seen good people get their accounts deleted because a different belief majority decided to gang up on them.
I've about had it with R&S myself. I'm sick of the hate and insults that fly through here.

It's only a guess, but I'd say your "answer" wasn't an answer, it was more of a personal communication ("chatting"), which is prohibited under the Community Guidelines.
Under the Guidelines, a question or answer doesn't have to be offensive to be deleted.

Depends what the question was.
Your answer may have been removed if it didn't actually answer the question. Looks to me like that's why...
Poorly? Totally a matter of opinion. Maybe your actions are completely devoid of such an adjective?

Without having seen the question, I can only guess that the person reported you for giving an answer that didn't actually answer the question. *shrug*
Do I think the answer is offensive? Meh, not really. But again, without having seen the question it's hard to say.
