For Catholics, Lent ends with the beginning the Holy Thursday mass. This is the start of the Triduum celebration. The Easter season begins at the end of the Easter Vigil mass, held on Holy Saturday night.
So I would say that come Easter morning, go for the chocolate! (You might want to go to mass first, though!)

Actually, Lent is over on the Wednesday before Easter. You can start on Holy Thursday...but of course Good Friday is another day of fasting and abstinence.
But the official last day of lent is the Wednesday before Easter. The Triduum, as it's called, is not part of lent.

You can eat it on Easter Sunday. Just as we omit saying "Alleluia" during Lent, and we start up again on Easter.

Right after Mass on Easter Sunday morning.
Or - if you have a midnight Mass after the Great Vigil, right after that Mass.
Hope you get a chocolate egg AND a chocolate bunny in your Easter basket!!
Eat the ears first. They are solid chocolate!!
