It's true that a great deal of beautiful music is related to religious belief, but don't forget that people who made music hundreds of years ago were pretty much like people who do the same thing today - they were trying to make a living. In a religious world, it's entirely to be expected that the great composers would produce religious works. I'm not sure you can read any more into it than that.

No. Bach lived in an age and place when belief in God was universal. Plenty of beautiful music isn't remotely related to God.
