OH S***! This is scientific fact. Do you think God allows for this because he knows this will happen and will give us a gimmie?

Do people need to attend "death" class to learn to avoid saying it?

I can't believe any person who dedicated his/her whole life to serving God, unbelievably, off the charts and then slips up at the end because he or she is scared or caught up in the moment and all that is wiped out...
and then God said, "No!! To hell with you..."
I find this hard to believe.

What are your thoughts on these two words and this situation?

Ok, smart guy chippy... it's scientific fact that the statistics on the matter are real, but yes I guess I should have said something regarding statistics on the matter, not scientific... etc. LOL

People who speak different languages often say the equivalent or something else inappropriate.

lol - that was my first thought

Saying the "S" word isn't cursing in God's eyes, it's just rude to talk about defecation in public lol. Using God's name in vain is a sin, not saying the "S" word or any other four-letter word :)

hmmmm.....you said "scientific fact"...here is the definition of both 'science' and 'fact'..i find them both to be interesting in their definitions....

Science:
1 : the state of knowing : knowledge as distinguished from ignorance or misunderstanding
2 a : a department of systematized knowledge as an object of study b : something (as a sport or technique) that may be studied or learned like systematized knowledge

Fact:
1 : a thing done: as a obsolete : FEAT b : CRIME c archaic : ACTION
2 archaic : PERFORMANCE, DOING
3 : the quality of being actual : ACTUALITY
4 a : something that has actual existence b : an actual occurrence
5 : a piece of information presented as having objective reality
- in fact : in truth

so are you speaking of the 2 words of "scientific" and "fact" or of "oh" and "****" ?

Generally if one is dying of a heart attack they are going to say "oh ****!"..because when you have a heart attack you feel like you gotta take a dump! So why wouldn't God understand that?

Plz...God is no fool..HE understands and KNOWS ALL!

Ah the debate between hardline views of hell, and the rationalization of the religion so it doesn't sound so F***ing crazy.

Someone says Holy S***! before they die, they're taking the Lord's name in vain. It's against the 10 commandments. It means they've sinned and haven't repented, so they're going to hell.

But this is extremely harsh, and quite frankly, makes the religion sound like it was invented by a**holes. So most modern Christians will tell you that they will be forgiven or something. It just goes along with the whole "pick and choose" aspect of the religion.

I guess it's probably said more frequently than, say, "Boy howdy!" or "Oh, hamburgers!"

Just out of curiosity, where did you learn this scientific fact? I can't imagine the billions of Chinese and Indians saying "Oh, ****!"

I wonder whether you can support your claim as a "scientific fact" by citing some sources or studies that bear it out.

When a person accepts Christ into their heart as Savior ALL their sins are forgiven. That includes saying OH S*** right before they die.

I always thought the last thing a person says before he dies is " get your knee off my chest." We'll have to check our sources.

It reminds me of a priest telling family members when a person dies "He/She is in a better place" yet the family members rather have them there with them than with God. Self centered maybe?

I would probably say "Oh F--K", cause I use that word quite often under stress!

That's true, except for in the South, where the most common two final words are, "Watch this".

I live in Atlanta. I know what I'm talking about.
