The folks at Family Radio believe the Final Judgment and Second Coming of Christ will be in the fall of 2011.

For example see the book “Time Has an End” on line at:
http://www.timehasanend.org/public/en_time_has_an_end_cont.html

This group, whose primary teacher is one Harold Camping, also believes the Church Age has ended in 1988 and believers are to come out of the churches as they are now under the control of malevolent forces now that the Tribulation has begun. According to this group, this is why there is so much strife between and within church groups.

See the book Time Has an End, Ch. 10:
http://www.timehasanend.org/public/en_time_has_an_end_ch10.html

That said, the online audio lectures at Family Radio, are illuminating and worth a listen:
See: http://worldwide.familyradio.org/zusa/english/connect/audio_archive/echoes/frame/download/download.html

Finally, for the offline version of the Family Radio nightly call in show, where folks ask questions about the bible to Mr. Camping, see:
http://worldwide.familyradio.org/zusa/english/connect/audio_archive/forum/frame/

I am not endorsing Family Radio’s doctrines, but one is able to learn quite a bit by listening to these materials.

Most of what you will read about the end times are pre-millennial views: the view that Christ's return will usher in a future millennium of Messianic rule mentioned in the book of Revelation before the final judgment. The believers of this doctrine also hold to the notion of a Rapture of the righteous beforehand.

Others hold that there will be only one second coming of Christ, at the time of the Final Judgment.

Then there are mixtures involving the views of the seven year tribulation and whether it is happening now, will happen later, etc.

These doctrines all fall under the general heading known as the study of end times, or eschatology.

For explanations of the various eschatological beliefs see: http://www.religioustolerance.org/millenni.htm

Well, the Mayans were incredibly accurate astronomers, and how they made their calculations so accurately so far in advance is still beyond us.

On 12/21/2012 the last cycle of their calender will be ending. This does not necessarily mean they predicted the end of the world. Actually, it is supposedly supposed to signal entering into the age of light, from the age of darkness. This does not necessarily mean chaos.

Actually, present day Mayans, though I don't know how accurate these present day followers are, say it could be a catastrophic situation, or it could come peaceful, depending on how the human race reacts.

Though it is interesting that there have been many sleepers, who have claimed they have had visions of sometime in 2013 in camps, with hardly anyone alive.

I'm not going to say my views, I'm not big into prophecy, but I'm a huge scholar of the Mayan traditions. They were a truly interesting culture.

I will say that those of you comparing this to the millennium, or Bible prophecy do not know about what the Mayans accomplished. Their prophecies were not so vague that anything could fit into them, and they have been incredibly accurate.

fake. the reason many people have confidence that is because of the fact the Mayan calender ends on dec. 20, 2012. It would not certainly say, "this date is the top of the international" or something like that. yet notwithstanding if it did say that, why would desire to we have confidence the mayans besides? The calender they used became in basic terms as precise as a fashionable-day abode calender, and all that crap that they anticipated international activities is bu?lshit. Thats because of the fact the words they used to describe those activities have been to vast. working example, they might describe WW2 as "in this era, humanity would be in super danger" or some thing like that. I mean, that is only too vast of a assertion to be precise. additionally, those activities are consistent with astrology it incredibly is the main bulls?it interest to ever call itself a technology.

All I can tell you is my dad is 92, born in 1914, and he has told me that like a zillion times the end of the world has been predicted. In the Bible it says that Jesus will come back (end of the world) like a thief in the night (don't think anyone could predict that date", but I will say that according to what we read in the Bible, we are showing a lot of the signs of end times, but then I think in the years the Bible was being written they thought so too. In my 56 years on this earth, it definitely seems to be going into fast forward misery, much much faster than ever before, so I do believe we are closer to end times, but then that could be 2000 years away ???? Just a few pieces of info for you. Talk to someone who is old like my dad and they can share with you.

The date of Sept 21st 2012 is the end of the Mayan Long Count. It is an interesting bit of history. You can read more here:

This is only a little bit of background on this amazing culture.

They say that date will be the end of this age. I suppose you can interpret this anyway you want to.

Well, many say that year because of Mayan predictions.
But there are signs.

Israel going back to homeland-happend, and some say those born then will be alive at the end, can't remember why they say that.

Weather going insane with hurricanes, earthquakes etc.

A final Antichrist will rule-look for someone who denies Jesus is Christ-that's the sign.

Gospel preached to all the world
Some say China will be involved.

Every year in some culture, religion, cult, the world is going to end. I am 50 and I think it has been going to end at least 20 times in my lifetime.

It says we will not know the time.
It says even Jesus doesn't know the time.
Only the father knows and in the appropriate time that
he will tell the Lord Jesus Christ "go and get them" at which
point Jesus will come in the clouds.

In the doctrine of Numerology it could happen within the next 7 years but it could happen tomorrow. Ultimately no one knows.
