What came first, the chicken or the egg, and why do you believe your answer to be the correct one

If the Qur'an is the literal word of God, should it be taken literally? I was thinking that this may be a bad idea, one because it is filled with analogies, two because I have seen first hand how taking scriptures literally whether it be the Torah, Bible or Qur'an causes a lot of conflict. This is not to say that there aren't Muslims that don't take it literally but it seems to be the common practise.

What is the difference between the King James Version Bible and the New King James Version Bible?

I have noticed that people who have little love in their hearts describe their God as being just but not very compassionate. People who are compassionate stress God's compassion. People who would not care much about strangers think that God is aloof. People who are intolerant think that God is intolerant, and so on.

I'm not saying this is true 100% of the time, but I think it may be true a lot of the time. What do you think?

In the Bible it specifically says that the law should be obeyed from generation to generation. Even Jesus said, not one word shall be changed of the Law of Moses. But yet so many people believe "OLD TESTAENT LAWS, MOST PPL DONT GO BY THEM ANYMORE, WE LIVE UNDER THE NEW LAWS OF THE NEW TESTAMENT"

And Christians, no you are wrong. The old testament laws are still in effect according to the Bible. In Mathew 5:17, Christ states that he has not come to destroy the old laws, he has come to fulfill them.

Hi:
I am wondering if anyone knows of good buildings for retirees in the Aventura/Ft. Lauderdale/North Miami/Hollywood, FL area?? My parents are devoutly Jewish and would like a building/community with similar minded people, who play Bridge since that’s all my parents do these days... Not looking for assisted living at all, just a Condominium complex. If you know of any good locations/buildings, I would be most grateful for your help.

Smelt funny? I mean, when did he take a bath with all that traveling? Sure there might be a river or two but that wouldn't really "clean" him.

God is like the air...You can feel the air but cannot see it
So what you cant see you cannot believe it but it exist
and is the only source for your existence.

Same way you can feel the love of God through
different sources. But you cant see him it does
not mean he's not there but he is the one to
save you from perishing.

And where do people get the idea that witches and wizards can fly on brooms or turn people into animals? Real Wiccans can't do those things anymore than the rest of us can.

I was brought up to be a Christian and never to question the mysterious ways of God. I am a grown woman now,and I have many questions. My life has been so tragic(no I'm not on a pity party) I'm an only child, lost both parents to cancer, my only child died from cancer in 2001. I see people ,with no belief system what so ever, having a wonderful life. Childern, grandchildern, and lots of friends and they would not trade places with me. I guess my question is" if something bad happens,it's Gods' will praise God, if something good happens, praise God." I'm confused.

I mean this as a serious question.

Yes, I know that Catholics and similar non-Protestants claim that even masturbation is murdering little babies, but I want scripture not dogma.

Did Jesus ever speak out against abortion? Safe sex (even between a married couple)? Wet dreams?

I know prudes freak out even having to talk about these common subjects, but there are plenty of other detailed sexual laws in the Torah. What do the actual writings say on these subjects.

Add: I do not want scripture on murder. I want scripture on calling birth control murder.

Add: "before we were in our mothers womb"
By that quote, changing your mind about choosing to conceive would also be a form of abortion.

Add: I have watched several videos of abortions being done. I am not squeamish about medical procedures. It bothers me as much as watching a gallbladder operation.

After all, the belief in God is based on the fact that we exist. That intelligence exists and that life exists. That things appear to have been designed here on earth as well as in the Universe. I mean, there is plenty of evidence around us to argue in favor of the possible existence of a God...

Now what exactly is it that Atheism is based on? The fact that you haven't met God in person? The theory of Evolution?

Science itself does not disprove or make the possibility of a Creator unlikely. In fact, when you truly study science, you will see how amazing the blueprint of life is; how elegant the Laws of Physics are etc.

What can possibly be more compelling an argument than your own miraculous existence?

The author is a Christian and a Pulitzer Prize winning columnist.

He writes about General Pace's recent remarks about gays in the military, submitting that people talk about "morality" when it's really just their gut and their prejudice, and that they basically "cherry-pick" from the Old Testament for the parts they like, ignoring all the others.
