I have noticed that people who have little love in their hearts describe their God as being just but not very compassionate. People who are compassionate stress God's compassion. People who would not care much about strangers think that God is aloof. People who are intolerant think that God is intolerant, and so on.
I'm not saying this is true 100% of the time, but I think it may be true a lot of the time. What do you think?

Like, there's this one group who says men should be strong and aggressive and they stress the story of Jesus overturning the tables (and they ignore all the statements of Jesus about how the meek shall inherit the earth, etc). Others who are tender, stress the meekness passages.

We humans make some morals and ethics and impose them on HIM....
and foolishly enough we expect God to follow our tailored morals and ethics
God is beyond our perception....he is the supreme consciousness spread in the Universe and beyond
Any words about him would be telling a blind about colors.. He has be experienced...not talked or read or taught

I think most people start out believing that God is a lot like their parents or whoever raised them. If your parents are strict and their love is conditional, you see God that way. If your parents are hands-off and anything goes, you see God that way. If your parents are capricious and unpredictable, you see God that way. It's only natural.
My parents are very strict and their love is highly conditional, and for much of my life I was afraid of God.
At some point, some people search God out based on something other than their relationship with their parents. I now think God is perfectly balanced in justice and grace.
I am not like Him, but He is Who I strive to be like.

I think most people here missed out the question itself. She wasn't asking if we adore a God that is like us, or if we worship ourselves. The question here is if how we percieve and describe God is a result of our own limited point of view.
I think we humans are here in this world to learn and expand our consciousness, and no matter our religion or cultural background, we can only concieve things that are already part of us. If we see the world as a dangerous place to live, we may percieve God as a vengeful being. If we enjoy life, then we may take joy in God, also. People who see themselves as being oppressed may think of God as a liberator, and those who feel gulty of being sinful may see God as a savior.
Think of last time you prayed or "spoke" with God: what did you tell him? Did you ask for something in particular? Maybe what you asked for is what your heart is needing help with, and we all see God as a supreme, over-powerful being who can help us overcome anything.
Maybe that's why we see in God only what we want to see. Maybe that's because that's the part of God that is missing in our souls.

What evidence? each and every thing you mentioned isn't grounded on fact, yet faith, and actually relies upon on the way you look on the international. I, as an Atheist, for sure don't have the comparable view as you do; and for me, it sort of feels plenty extra logical that there is not any God. even in spite of the shown fact that, I have not have been given something against all and sundry being Christian, or the different faith for that remember, and that i appreciate them for his or her faith in what they have self assurance in. I want people such as you may prepare me the comparable courtesy, as a replace of criticizing my ideals and calling me conceited and blind.

I think that people tend to see God the same way that they experienced their own parents when they were children. If they came from a home with strict parents who did not love them unconditionally, they tend to see God like that. Those who were granted mercy, see a merciful God, and so on.

YUP! People think they are being "Like God." In truth, the God they invent for themselves to live by is "Like Them".
It would be comical if it weren't so sad and a reflection of people's deep seeded insecuritys.

as they say we create god in our own image, but i hope to god , that god is not like my ego. i screw up way to much, and have a long way to go before being that good.
there are many levels to human existence but the 3 main ones to me are
1. the general person.[general religious practice]
___________________
2. the person that is on the [spiritual path]
i hate this term born again...but it applyes to all spiritual seekers.
3, the saint.

I think that is a very cool question!
I have all ways felt that God is a kind, forgiving, nurturing being. and as I think about it, it's probably because I need those things in my life. Thanks for the insight!

I think you are right on the money. That's because God is our reflection & visa versa.
Because we have free will, God says "My will for you is your will for you" We see as we wish. And frankly I rather see it as rosey.
