In the Old Testament people lived to be so old and things seem almost unbelievable back than and I have a really hard time excepting it. I belive it and everything but sometimes I doubt things because its so abnormal.
If anyone has anything i will greatly appreciate it!

this is an open question. I have my own views on this but I would like to know what you all think. Is it possible for people to just privately worship who or whatever they want as long as it doesn't bother others?

Why is it that some religious people feel the need to convert all the people around them? Shouldn't it be an individual right and personal matter (religion) if I want my immortal soul saved or not? Why the need to push someone into a specific category of religion?

This is the reason that I believe in God. I believe in duality. If there is not - than there is. Everything that exist is dualistic. It is like arguing what can first the chicken or the egg. I think they came simotaneously because one can not exist without the other. Like two sides of a coin. Now I grew up in a family of scientist and anyone that understands physics should understand this concept as well. There is a Negative and positive in everything. Duality. The number 1 can not exist without the number 2. That is what I was trying to ask here:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjoClTT2UU_z5KRyZEa13Szty6IX?qid=20070316210237AA9hqk6

But people just assumed what I thought and what I did not think.
The point was - a belief system is a belief system. 1 + 1 = 2 is a fact. But no on can prove that there is or is not a God. So it is really all a belief system in the end.
So here is the Question - What makes your belief system better than religious peoples?

I know there are a lot of christians that put up the defensive, saying the words theyre not real or true christians, but by doing so they dismiss this important passage in thier bibles, and a bad tree cant be pruned, it must be cut off at the roots, if the root of christianity is bad so are its branches, and the whole of the tree must die with it.

Christians are constantly asking atheists "How did the Big Bang start?" or "Where'd life come from?" But one day, soon, when scientists answer these questions, will your faith in God disappear?

Should we debate atheists philosophically rather than scientifically?

We both believe in God. The word Islam means Peace. We believe God is Love and Jesus surely taught us to love our neighbors. Clearly many of our neighbors are Muslims. Wouldn't God be more pleased if we spread peace in His name? Does He really want us to fight over who loves Him most? I say God taught us to Love Everybody. Am I wrong?

I am Hindu, and I realize some people call that a pagan religion. But today, "Pagan" has come to be a word to refer mostly to those who practice one of the pre-Christian European religions, hasn't it? So is it incorrect for people to call Hindus Pagans? Or does this word have so many uses that it depends on the context or something? And, is this meant as an insult? "Pagan" should not be an insult in my opinion, but when people call Hindus Pagans, are they attempting to insult them?

I keep hearing people talk about how they have good, personal relationships with Jesus and I feel left out.

Jesus doesn't call me. He doesn't hit me up on myspace to see if I want to go anywhere. I don't even get a card on x-mas! :(

The people who have a personal relationship with Jesus, I would like to know:

What does Jesus do in his spare time? Does he like to bowl, or play pool, or take in a movie?

Does Jesus drive or do you have to pick him up?

Does Jesus bogart the conversation or does he let you talk too?

His favorite color?

Does he pay for your part of things or do you go Dutch?

The insight would be appreciated.

Would you think, using your own mental capabilites, that there is something bigger than yourself?

Would you end up worshipping something besides your self? And what would be your gold standard to live peacefully among others?

If God loves me, then how could he even create a place like Hell? Christians tell me that I have free will, that I can choose Jesus and be saved; or reject Him and go to Hell. But they don't answer my question. Eternal is beyond the end of time. Our life is nothing compared to its length. How can God give us such a short time, to do something that will determine or fate forever? They say God gives me plenty of chances. But if I keep rejecting him, then God will "harden my heart to him". Great! if I don't accept Jesus then God won't even bother with me after a while. I also heard a Christian trying to convert a person. When they started to dissagree, the Christian shouted "Ten thousand years from now, when you're in Hell, you'll remember this night!" So, I'll also have to spend all my time there regreting it. My last point is why is Hell called punishment? What good is punishment if it never ends? What would I learn from an Eternity in Hell? That is why I'm not a Christian.

Why & why not?

I don't, but I believe there are many paths to Jesus, the intermediary between mankind and God.

Jesus said to seek and you shall find. I believe that is honestly seeking God. And that there are many ways to do that. Jesus is the Door.

Oprah Winfrey, believes there are many paths to the Christian God. That is only true if the paths are seeking Jesus.
