The enemy is Satan and his fallen angels, that should be easy enough to understand. The armor is to HELP protect you against the attacks satan makes against you durin the walk with the Lord. It's an illustration about Godly principles, if you are strong in those things then Satan wont be able to bring you down.
I haven't read the book in question. Sorry. Info on the book and actually READING it are 2 different things. If it's about islamic faiths fulfilling the prophecy of Gog and Mogog...I'd rejoice about it. Not that someone went to war and lost, but the fact prophecy came true and I was here to see it.
