Every time i see a hitch hiker, as long as my kids aren't with, i give them a ride. Every time i see someone standing on the road holding a sign, and by the way this is happening alot lately, i stop and see what they need. i give them whatever i have, i find out what they need and i help them. i have gotten hotel rooms for two people that didn't have a place to stay. the first one made me nervous, so the next day i called a church and told them the story, they went to the room and helped the guy out. food and bus ticket. i will do anything within my power to help others and ease suffering whenever possible. i always smile and strangers. always give kind words to. i suffer from deep depression, so i am not able to do all i would like to do to ease suffering for others. but i'm trying as hard as i can.

I once drove 2 girls from Wexham Park hospital in Slough to Cookham because it was too late for them to get the bus there.

I found a lost Romanian refugee wandering the streets of Slough with her two little children and a carrier bag of toys which represented the worldly goods they had in the UK. She had been given emergency housing but no idea how to find it and all the information she had was in English. (helpful eh) I eventually found the people responsible who told me somebody was waiting for her and they would get him to come back and collect her. She was extremely upset by then so I said no, I'd take her myself which I did. When we got there I also gave her children a box of old toys and books which I had intended to take to the charity shop. That wasn't exactly a selfless act I'll admit.

I stopped when some dozy spanish nit overturned his car in torrential rain because he was driving too fast. He and his wife were fine but I let them sit in my car until the break down truck came.

Oh and I sponser a child in Bolivia.

What would I be prepared to do? If I can do something to help another person, mostly I would do it.

I don't know how to answer the what would I be prepared to do question, but I will tell you what I have done in the past. (Actually my husband and I.) We have stopped and helped numerous people on the side of the road with broken down cars, picked up money that was dropped and returned that, given food, given money from our own pockets. We have even sent food, clothes, books, toys, cards, magazines and most importantly by doing this we sent love.

Lots of things - helped push cars, etc. The usual stuff that most, decent people would do. I've ran after people who've dropped money or belongings. I also smile at people. I say good morning to them, it's amazing how a little thing like that seems to brighten someone up.
I would be prepared to do whatever was needed, within my power and possibility, to help someone in need.

Yeah, being a blood donor is a good one! Also being an organ donor. I help strangers everyday at work, as I'm sure a lot of people do.

given blood and registered as an organ donor (so easy to do online, takes 2 minutes). i'd also be tempted to register as a bone marrow donor but it takes a long time and i can't take that much time off work. but i'd definitely consider it. i think if i thoughtn i had something, anything, that somebody else needed more i'd be more than willing to hand it over.

Jumped someones car to help it get started, gave money to those in need of it when I couldn't help them, mediated an argument I had nothing to do with when things were about to come to blows, list goes on.

Numerous times. I've done voluntary work for the disabled and would help anyone in need to the best of my ability.
