It seems to me that the difficulty lies with the presumption that all that exists can be perceived by at least one of the 5 senses in some manner, or at least with respect to the question you pose, someday with enough science and technology will be so perceived. Its a postulate that can neither be proven nor disproven by its very nature.
This question blends both science and philosophy and always has, the only difference is today science can tell us more about what we are capable of perceiving.
Maybe its just me, but the idea that humans are capable of perceiving all there is seems more than just a little presumptuous.
I assume that others have had experiences which they might describe as "being moved". For me its that hollow feeling I get in my chest and my eyes begin to water and I do everything I can to make sure no one else notices. That feeling may come from particular music or the words of a friend or loved one or the remembrance of such an event.
How does science explain that? That feeling certainly doesn't help my survival and the continuation of the species, yet it happens on occasion to me and I suspect, everyone.
Can any of this be caused by something beyond our ability to perceive. Logically the answer must be yes, since we can't possibly know the effects of things we can't perceive.
Perhaps the more important question is, assuming things exist which can't be perceived by 1 of the 5 senses, can they possibly be relevant since they are unperceived. Once again however, from a purely logical viewpoint, they certainly may have relevance.
I really think the best evidence for all of this lies in our experience and that innate feeling inside that we each have about things. I have this silly feeling, this seemingly strange notion, that for each person individually, the existence of God may be dependent on their individual belief.

Scientists find answers all the time and constantly change. First and foremost scientists must be theorists when asserting any theory and should not be dogmatic about it. Any theory that arises never completely answers the anomalies that are intrinsic in in the "new theory". It is the best educated guess based on the scientific data collected at the time and that it is all it can be.
As Christians unfortunately there is really no middle arena in faith or in the scientific arena of theory that a balanced battle of ideas can be waged as you so rightfully pointed out.
I agree with you that only a philosophical arena is the only area. Since scientists rest their case on known data and projected theories. While Christians wage the war on faith in a divinely inspired word of God. Of course others with other beliefs can conjecture their own thoughts as well.
This proves again how all the scientific anomalies are not answered but yet the war is waged. To me I am giving an unsatisfactory answer but when there is no happy medium for a middle ground the philosophical arena is the best we can hope for at this time.
Why here in this arena? Because it is the only ground that is not so sacred that allows for this warfare of ideologies fight equally and fairly.
I am a believer but my knowledge in scientific theories does not in any way discourage or overthrow my faith in God or my reliance in the Bible as the answer that God did indeed create the universe and everything in it including mankind. As it has been poointed out before in other posts other than here. God created the science and that is good enough for me.

God permitting; my faith in God increases continually in this life (not disappears)!!!
Should we debate atheists philosophically rather than scientifically? That depends on the other person. (Are they honestly seeking the truth; or out to win an argument, or similar aspect)? There is a difference between philosophy(faith) and science(logic); however one should realize the faith(superior to man's logic) is founded on the logic.

Your question presupposes that faith in God is the same thing as a belief in Christianity or the Bible.
The basics of MY religion, which predates the modern book-based faiths, are being proven by science every day. As a Pagan, I find it frustrating when atheists assume that anyone who believes in a deity also believes in the Bible. That's simply nonsense. Deity can and does exist in complete independence of Christian, Jewish, and Muslim beliefs.

hm thats a really good question.
i was watching this show some weeks ago..
something like " The Tomb of Jesus" or something
and they were retracking back to when Jesus was living and assembling all of these facts and clues to determine whether He had actually lives or not..
If they have found out good & true facts, maybe the christian faith may have been destroyed.
you`re question reminded me of it..
hm.

no, my faith in God isnt based on 'just a book' but on the relationship that comes with accepting Jesus and his Gift of Salvation... science will go on trying to explain all things when they cannot give more than theories on many

Faith is. If I want to believe in God or Ahura-Mazda or Yggdrasil or myslef, it is still a caliber of faith.

I never had faith in "god". My parents didn't force me to be brainwashed at an early age. They allowed me to make up my own mind, not have someone else force their beliefs on me like their parents did to them.
