I'm Irish and I don't use a rosary unless I am dressing up in a costume

Praying the Rosary is a Roman Catholic tradition. Irish who are Catholic are very likely to be familiar with this tradition and to practice it. Irish who are not Catholic probably do not. The tradition is not unique to the Irish.

Anybody who "prays the rosary" got it from the church they go to. It has no place in Biblical writings. One thing I believe that God would find insulting, is the continuous repetion of "prayer". Prayer is supposed to be the communication of a son to a Father
(no gender intended). Not a recital.
It would be insulting to me if my little boy only talked to me by reciting something that someone else wrote, and did it over and over and over again, and then had the nerve to call it communication with me.
Do these people even believe they are talking to a real entity at all, or are they just "playing religion"?

In Matthew 6:7, Jesus said, "But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do; for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them; for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
This is Jesus condemning the concept of the ROSARY.
You need to read all of Matthew, chapter 6, it is maybe 2 pages long.

My Great grandma was Irish Catholic and she prayed with the rosary, also my husbands family is Irish Catholic and they do to. :-)

Yes. Well, my Irish grandmother did religiously. Sometimes while watching TV, so I'm not sure how much it truly meant to her.
