the parents of mary and joseph. one was adecendant of king david the other was a levite priest. which was which i am honestly not sure.

Matthew 1:16 says, " Jacob became father to Joseph the husband of Mary of whom Jesus was born, who is called Christ."
So Joseph's father, named Jacob, would have been Mary's father-in-law.

Mary's father in law would have been Joseph's father.
It would have to be the husband's father. Who the child is does not determine the woman's father in law.

IJoseph was her legal husband and therefore her Father-in-LAW would be Joseph's father.
