The Region Jesus came from, was usually known from dark skin people with curly hair? But why is he portrayed as white? Is this another case where people can't understand SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE?

have you ever really seen a Jewish person from Isreal? A very diversified people. I have never seen Jesus portrayed as blue-eyed, though.

although there is only one picture of Jesus, it is in black and white, and is a negative image,
If we use your argument then all Americans have red skin and straight black hair.

I don't see the connection of how Jesus is portrayed in an image and the much-misued topic of separation of church and state. Jesus is portrayed differently in all parts of the world. It's just to make the image more relatable. In African-American communities he's black. He's latino in hispanic communities. I think most people realize that. It's similar to the reason that many Christian holidays are set around the previous pagan celebrations of the time (winter and spring solstaces, etc...). It was to make Christianity more accesible and easier to transition to for converts.

How do you know what he looked like. No one does so some artist just made up a likeness. Jesus was Jewish and most of the Jews I have seen are white but really that means nothing.

I cannot relate to graven images. In my opinion that was only the earthly vessel He used to carry His spirit and of no real importance. However He was born a Jew so He must of had dark skin anyways.Take care and may GOD bless you.

Because the artists who painted him were white with blonde hair and blue eyes, and they wanted to depict him in their image. When Black artists paint pictures of Jesus, they make him Black. Jesus was actually Jewish, and Jews have white skin, so he was White, but he probably didn't have blonde hair. This has nothing to do with separation of church and state.

LOL. Yea, I don't know! Jesus probably looked like your average Jew.
One of the Latin professors at my university looks just like that white-skinned portrayal of Jesus. We're always joking about that. It's especially weird to see him smoke, LOL. Yeah, it's entertaining for us...
